RIBA House of the Year

The RIBA House of the Year, formerly the Manser Medal [1] is an award given annually by the Royal Institute of British Architects for "the best new house designed by an architect in the UK". [2] [3]

In 2001, Architects' Journal inaugurated the annual Manser Medal, named after Michael Manser, to recognise the best completed house in the UK. [4] It was rebranded as the RIBA House of the Year in 2015. [1]

The Royal Institute of British Architects Stirling Prize is a British prize for excellence in architecture. It is named after the architect James Stirling, organised and awarded annually by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The Stirling Prize is presented to "the architects of the building that has made the greatest contribution to the evolution of architecture in the past year". The architects must be RIBA members. Until 2014, the building could have been anywhere in the European Union, but since 2015 entries have had to be in the United Kingdom. In the past, the award included a £20,000 prize, but it currently carries no prize money.

RSHP British architectural firm

RSHP is a British architectural firm, founded in 1977 and previously known as the Richard Rogers Partnership which became Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners in 2007. The firm rebranded from Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners to simply RSHP on 30 June 2022, after the retirement and death of Richard Rogers. Its main offices are located in the Leadenhall Building, London, completed to the firm's designs in 2014. Previously they were at the Thames Wharf Studios. In its various incarnations it has designed many important buildings including the Lloyd's building and the Millennium Dome in London and the Senedd building in Cardiff.

Ian Ritchie is a British architect who founded Ian Ritchie Architects in 1981. His projects include the RIBA Award-winning Susie Sainsbury Theatre and Angela Burgess Recital Hall for the Royal Academy of Music, Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour, University College London and the American Institute of Architects Award-winning Royal Shakespeare Company Courtyard Theatre. Ritchie was the first foreign architect to receive the French Academie d'Architecture Grand Silver Medal for Innovation.

Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios is a British architectural design firm, established in 1978, with offices in Bath, London, Manchester and Belfast. The firm is known for its pioneering work in sustainable design and social design agenda.

AKT II is a London based firm of structural, civil and transportation engineering consultants. It was founded as Adams Kara Taylor in 1996 by Hanif Kara, Albert Williamson-Taylor and Robin Adams. Now numbering over 350 employees, it is one of the largest structural engineers in London.

Michael Manser was a British architect. He was a president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and established his own successful architecture practice in 1961.

Loyn & Co Architects is an architectural firm based in Penarth near Cardiff, Wales. It was founded by the architect Chris Loyn in 1987.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Shelley McNamara</span> Irish architect

Shelley McNamara is an Irish architect and academic. She attended University College Dublin and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Architecture. She founded Grafton Architects with Yvonne Farrell in 1978. Grafton rose to prominence in the early 2010s, specialising in stark, weighty but spacious buildings for higher education. McNamara has taught architecture at University College Dublin since 1976 and at several other universities.

Sergison Bates architects is an architectural practice with an office in London and Zürich. It was founded by Jonathan Sergison and Stephen Bates in 1996 in London. In addition to the two founding partners, their long-standing collaborator Mark Tuff has been a partner of the practice. Sergison Bates architects are best known for their residential buildings but have also realised public and institutional projects in the UK, continental Europe and China. In addition to their work as practising architects both Jonathan Sergison and Stephen Bates have taught architecture at various universities. Jonathan Sergison is a professor at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, whilst Stephen Bates is Professor and joint head of the Department for Urban Planning and Housing at the Technical University of Munich together with Bruno Krucker. Both architects have written and lectured on a wide range of topics related to architectural design. In 2006 they were awarded the prestigious Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal and Erich Schelling Medal for their contribution to architecture.

Nathalie Rozencwajg is a RIBA and RICS award-winning architect based in Paris and London.
