The Rabindra Parishad is a multi-purpose cultural centre on Beer Chand Patel Path in Patna, India. [1]

Overview

Named after Rabindranath Tagore, it was established in 1948. [2] The building contains a musical school (known as Geet Bhawan), [3] a library with books on and by Tagore, [4] and an auditorium, known as Rabindra Bhavan, which is an important theater in Patna where cultural and theatrical activities takes place. [5] The programme of performances ranges from theatre, to live music, comedy, dance, visual art, spoken word and children's events.

During 2008 to 2010, the theater went a major renovation and suspension. The overall renovation cost was estimated about 1.5 crore. After renovation, the auditorium's seating capacity was increased from 655 [4] to 1,000 and the theater’s structure were improved, too. In February 2011, the state-of-the-art auditorium was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar. [2]

Shri Krishna Memorial Hall is a multipurpose arena located in the Gandhi Maidan area of Patna, Bihar. It was built in honour of the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Sri Krishna Sinha. Originally completed in 1976 with a seating capacity of 2,000, the centre has undergone numerous renovations and expansions. It is second largest auditorium in Bihar. It can also be used for conventions, trade shows, concert performances, banquets and other events.

Patna Film Festival is an international film festival in Patna, India. Participant countries include Iran, Canada, China, Japan, Sweden, Germany, Russia, the United States, and India. Patna Film Festival started in 2006. It was jointly organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), directorate of the film festival, National Film Archive of India, Federation of Film Societies of India, and the state government.

Patna Metro is a rapid transit system currently under construction in the city of Patna in Bihar, India. It will be owned and operated by the state-run Patna Metro Rail Corporation and is expected to run on two corridors by 2027. It is being constructed under a Public Private Partnership mode and is estimated to cost 13,365.77 crore (US$1.7 billion). This cost is excluding land acquisition cost, which is to be borne by the Bihar government. The first phase: the east–west corridor and north–south corridor will consist of a 23.30 km elevated track and 16.30 km underground track.

The Patliputra Stadium at the Patliputra Sports Complex is a multi-purpose stadium in Kankarbagh, Patna, Bihar. The first Women World Cup Kabaddi Championship was held here in its inaugural year, in which 16 countries had participated. It had also hosted the seven league matches of new Pro Kabaddi League with its home team as Patna Pirates from 7 to 10 August in 2014.

Moti Babu Institute of Technology, Forbesganj - MBIT has been established with a view to impart technical and professional education in the periphery of Forbesganj in Araria district. MBIT is situated in area of 18 acres in the Rampur village, Araria district and is 300 km from Patna.It is also very near to Nepal's second largest city Biratnagar (10 km). Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority(Biada) was instrumental in allotting land in Araria district. Inaugurated on 22 July 2013, MBIT is affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna, Moti Babu Institute of Technology is the brainchild of Amit Kumar Das, a NRI billionaire from Bihar, who currently resides in Sydney. A number of national and international agencies have been instrumental in assisting MBIT to create an academic alliance with TAFE, South Australia. Jp Ganga Path or Patna Marine Drive is an expressway along the Ganga river in Patna, Bihar, India. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. It is being jointly constructed by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) and the Government of Bihar.

The Samrat Ashok Convention Centre is a convention centre on North Gandhi Maidan Marg, Patna, Bihar with an estimated budget of 490 crore. The foundation stone of the centre was laid by Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar on 8 February 2014. An expected, around 16,500 metric tonnes of steel is used in construction, which is more than the volume of steel used in raising Eiffel Tower and Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The capacity of the main auditorium is around 5000. The Samrat Ashoka Convention centre has three major signature buildings- 1) Bapu Sabahagaar, an auditorium of 5000 seating capacity, 2) Gyan Bhawan with 800 capacity auditorium, multipurpose hall and other conference halls of various capacities; and 3) Sabhyata Dwar. The centre was completed by April 2017 and has Gyan Bhawan, Bapu Sabhagaar, Multipurpose Hall, Plenary Hall, Modular Meeting Rooms with Basement Parking, Sabhyta Park With Sabhyata Dwar & food plaza. In February 2018, Samrat Ashoka Convention Kendra Patna won the 10th CIDC Vishwakarma Achievement Award for best construction projects in India.

The Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir is an arts and crafts museum and a multi-purpose cultural centre located in Patna, in the capital of Bihar, India.

Kalidas Rangalaya is one of Bihar's well-known theatres and a center for cultural performances in Patna, India. It is in the southeast corner of Gandhi Maidan and is run by the Bihar Art Theater which is the regional centre of International Theatre Institute, UNESCO, Paris.

The Wheeler Senate Hall is a convention centre of the Patna University situated in the heart of Ashok Rajpath, Patna.

Patna Book Fair or Patna Pustak Mela is an annual book fair organized in Patna, India by the Centre for Readership Development (CRD),held annually at the Gandhi Maidan, selling and exhibiting books, printed matter, stationery, printing, compact discs and other multimedia publishing. The First Patna Book Fair was held in 1985 and the last event was held in November 2022 was its 26th edition. During 1999-2002 the venue was shifted to Patliputra colony grounds. Next edition of 27th Patna Book Fair is going to be held between 2nd-13th December 2022 at Gandhi Maidan. The event could not be held due to the Corona Pandemic and is being organised after 2019.

Patliputra colony is a housing cooperative society in Patna, the capital city of Bihar. The Society was formed in 1954 and was meant to be a housing society for Government Officials only, consisting of both residential and business settlements. It is surrounded by the Kurji- Rajapur road on one side and the Bailey Road and Gosain Tola on the other and by New Patliputra colony and Rajeev Nagar on one side. The area is served by Patliputra colony police station under Patna Police. Patliputra Colony is managed by a housing cooperative society, known as Patliputra Cooperative Society and is not a part of Patna Municipal Corporation.

The Bankipur Central Jail was a colonial prison located in Patna in the state of Bihar, India. Many notable dissidents such as Rajendra Prasad, Brajkishore Prasad, Srikrishna Sinha, Anugrah Narayan Sinha, Mulana Mazharul Haque and J. B. Kripalani, among others, were imprisoned here during the struggle for India's independence.

The 350th Prakash Parv or birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh ji was celebrated in January 2017 in Patna, India. 2017 is the year of the 350th anniversary of the 10th Sikh Guru, a spiritual master, warrior, poet and philosopher. At the date of this anniversary, a number of events was organized on the occasion in Patna marking a grand celebration in their history.
