RadioContraband is a Spokane, Washington-based radio promotion company founded by Steven Walker, Jacob Bunton and Beatrix Danko. It is a privately held corporation. It also operates the sister company Alternative Contraband.
Spokane is a city in Spokane County in the state of Washington in the northwestern United States. It is located on the Spokane River west of the Rocky Mountain foothills in eastern Washington, 92 miles (148 km) south of the Canada–US border, 18 miles (30 km) from the Washington–Idaho border, and 228 miles (367 km) east of Seattle along Interstate 90.
Radio promotion is the division of a record company which is charged with placing songs on the radio. They maintain relationships with program directors at radio stations and attempt to persuade them to play singles to promote the sale of recordings, such as CDs, sold by the record company. They may also pay a fee to a third party, known as an independent promoter, who has a financial relationship with the radio station or its parent company.

RadioContraband is a micro social media company that is format specific to the Active rock community. The company's website features industry and artist profiles, music news, radio charts, and new music.

Active rock is a radio format used by many commercial radio stations across the United States and Canada. Active rock stations play a popular mix of new hard rock songs with valued classic rock favorites, normally with an emphasis similar to Mainstream Rock and Album Oriented Rock on the hard rock end of the spectrum.
