Radio Globo is an Italian popular radio station based in Rome. Despite its name, this radio station is not endorsed or affiliated with the Brazilian TV network Rede Globo.
It was founded by Virginia Dantas as Gamma Radio in 1986, broadcasting popular mostly American and Latin hits, a format that proved very popular. After an initial period of pre-programmed music, soon the station engaged services of popular radio hosts like er Massimo Vari, Annibale Grasso, Fabio Calvari, Silvia Giansanti, Stefano Valli etc. [1]
The station first broadcast in Rome but expanded through the Lazio region and soon had transmitters in a number of Italian cities. The station was acquired by Globo Media with CEO Bruno Benvenuti. The station's The Morning Show includes sharp humor on current topics, uses gags, parodies and characters with hosts like Maurizio Paniconi, Nandone, Massimo Vari, Gabry Venus, Alessandro Tirocchi, Andrea Torre and Roberta Coletti.
The station has also been instrumental in launching a number of novelty songs. Of notability are the 2011 Italian summer hit and the station's own version of the Romanian hit "Mr. Saxobeat". Showcasing the station staff and featuring hosts Maurizio Panicni, Alessandro Tirocchi and Morgana Giovannetti, the alternative Radio Globo Morning Show 's "Mr. Saxobeat Ostia Beach version" produced by Lucio Scarpa became popular.
Banking on that success, the station's The Morning Show came back in summer of 2012 launching an even bigger success the song "Il Pulcino Pio" featuring Morgana Giovannetti based on a Brazilian tune using sound of the character "Pulcino Pio", literally the little chirping chick that topped the Italian charts for 8 consecutive weeks.

"Mr. Saxobeat" is a song by Romanian singer Alexandra Stan, released on 12 September 2010 as the second single from her debut studio album, Saxobeats (2011). The track was written and produced by Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi, and was recorded at their Maan Studio. Musically, "Mr. Saxobeat" is a Eurodance, dance-pop and popcorn song, with its instrumentation consisting of notably saxophone and horn as well as 'conventional' synth and techno sound. The lyrics echo the singer's vision of a perfect man. Reviewers were positive towards the recording, with them praising its catchiness, the saxophone sequences and Stan's voice.
"Lollipop (Param Pam Pam)" is the debut single recorded by Romanian recording artist Alexandra Stan for her debut studio album, Saxobeats (2011). The track was written by Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi, while production was solely handled by Prodan. It was first released in Romania in 2009. Following the international success of Stan's 2010 single "Mr. Saxobeat", "Lollipop (Param Pam Pam)" was re-distributed in various other countries in 2011. The music video for "Lollipop (Param Pam Pam)" features the singer and other female dancers dancing to the song in front of a purple backdrop; interspersed scenes portray Stan licking a lollipop. She herself described the song as "club-friendly" and as featuring "funny lyrics", while music critics praised it for being a "catchy pop song" and a "club sensation". Sampling elements from American singer Fergie's "Fergalicious" (2006), the single commercially peaked at number 58 on her native Romanian Top 100.
