Radio Marconi is an Italian-based company that has installed and serviced audio-visual and radio equipment since 1993. It designs interactive multimedia communication systems. The company has also developed several applications for theaters, conference centers, museums and stadiums.[ citation needed ] During its lifespan, the company has become a service center for brands such as Sony, Sennheiser, Neumann, and Televic, with customers based in radio, television, theater, public authorities and security forces.[ citation needed ]

History

In 2004, after completing a project for the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Radio Marconi was transformed from a uninominal to a limited liability company.

Radio Marconi began focusing on the development of proprietary technologies in 2006 and started its international expansion, with the first international project realized in 2007 at the Oslo Opera House. The company made a patent application in Italy in November 2007.

In 2009, it further developed technology aimed at low consumption[ clarification needed ] multimedia technology (known as MODE23). [1] Patent applications were expanded to Europe, United States, Canada, China, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates. In 2010, the company obtained a patent for its MODE23 technology in its native country. Its applications extend to other parallel markets, such as those involved with sport.

In 2011, Radio Marconi was involved with the first worldwide large scale installation of interactive multimedia technology at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman. [2] This project was a finalist in the “Most InAVative Leisure & Entertainment Facility” category at the InAVation Awards 2013.

In 2012 Radio Marconi obtained the European patent 216.855 for its MODE23 technology

Awards

In 2011 Radio Marconi was given the Cisco company's "Innovation Award". The company was described as "the most innovative business impacting network of the year". [3] [4] In the same year Radio Marconi was hosted at Cisco's booth at SMAU 2011. [5]

In 2013 Radio Marconi is finalist in the EMEA “Most InAVative Leisure & Entertainment Facility” category at the InAVation Awards 2013, for the interactive multimedia seatback system integrated into the Royal Opera House in Muscat.

Technology and products

The company is known mainly for its surtitle and supertitle systems, as well as the electronic libretto, seat back titles, and libretto translation technology. It is also known for its wireless and touch screen technology. These devices are not computer-based, resulting in no moving parts, no sound, and no overheating. These products allow users to view video channels, download content, and participate in surveys, among other applications. [6] Radio Marconi systems can reproduce any existing linguistic character and can be used for translation and the creation and sharing of multilingual information, such as alerts, public notices, and other general information.

Muscat is the capital city and is the most populated city in Oman. It is the seat of the Governorate of Muscat. According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total population of Muscat Governorate was 1.4 million as of September 2018. Tandberg Defunct electronics manufacturer

Tandberg was an electronics manufacturer located in Oslo, Norway and New York City, United States. The company began in the radio field, but became more widely known for their reel-to-reel tape recorders as well as cassette decks and televisions. The original company went bankrupt in 1978 after a sharp financial downturn. The following year, the company re-formed whilst their data division was split off as Tandberg Data, including the tape recording division, which reduced its scope to data recording.

The Sultanate of Muscat and Oman, also known briefly as the State of Muscat and Oman during the rule of Timur ibn Faisal, was a sovereign state that encompassed the present-day Sultanate of Oman and parts of present-day United Arab Emirates and Gwadar, Pakistan, in the second half of the 19th century and 20th century. Ruled by the Busaid dynasty, it was established as a result of the partition of the Omani Empire upon the death of its last ruler Said ibn Sultan. The Imamate of Oman refers to a historical state within the Oman proper in the present-day Al Hajar Mountains in Sultanate of Oman. The capital of the Imamate alternated historically between Rustaq and Nizwa. The Imamate's territory extended north to Ibri and south to Alsharqiyah region and the Sharqiya Sands. Surtitles, also known as supertitles, SurCaps, OpTrans, are translated or transcribed lyrics/dialogue projected above a stage or displayed on a screen, commonly used in opera, theatre or other musical performances. The word "surtitle" comes from the French language "sur", meaning "over" or "on", and the English language word "title", formed in a similar way to the related subtitle. The word Surtitle is a trademark of the Canadian Opera Company.

The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet is the first fully professional company each for opera and ballet in Norway, the only such professional organisation in the country. Its current residence is the Oslo Opera House, since the spring of 2008.

Royal Opera House Muscat

The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is Oman's premier venue for musical arts and culture. The opera house is located in Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat on Sultan Qaboos Street. He has created radio and TV programs in partnership with Oman government's Ministry of Information that supported talents interviews and has also created a knowledge sharing platform called Knowledge Oman that provides free seminars, workshops and training.
