Radio in Colombia started in the early 1920s when a group of radio amateurs and enthusiasts brought the first receivers to the country, [1] mostly in order to listen broadcasts from Europe and the United States. Broadcasting started in September 1929, with state-owned HJN, predecessor of Radiodifusora Nacional de Colombia, and privately run La Voz de Barranquilla (HKD). [2] [3]

As of 2011, Colombia has three major national radio networks: state-run Radiodifusora Nacional de Colombia and private networks Caracol Radio and RCN Radio, with hundreds of affiliates. These networks appeared in the 1940s. [4]

There are other national networks, including Cadena Super, Todelar, Organización Radial Olímpica, and Colmundo, among others.

Television in Colombia or Colombian television is a media of Colombia. It is characterized for broadcasting telenovelas, series, game shows and TV news. Until 1998 it was a state monopoly. There are two privately owned TV networks and three state-owned TV networks with national coverage, as well as six regional TV networks and dozens of local TV stations. There are numerous cable TV companies operating in Colombia under each Colombian department statutes. These cable companies also develop their own channels, in addition to a variety of international channels. Television in Colombia has always relied on technological advancements from developed countries importing almost all the equipment.

Lágrimas Cálidas is the debut studio album by Colombian recording artist Fanny Lu, released on January 1, 2005. The record contains ten tracks, most of which were composed by Jose Gaviria, and produced with Andres Munera. Musically, the album experiments with tropipop, which is composed of the genres of vallenato, merengue, and pop music. Recording for the album took place in 2004 in three cities: Miami, Bogota and Medellin. An international version of the album, containing two remixes, was released exclusively in United States, Spain and Colombia.
