With over 400 films to his name, Manivannan was one of the most experienced actors in the field and directed exactly 50 films. Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language political satire film directed by Manivannan. A sequel to Amaidhi Padai (1994), it stars Sathyaraj in his 200th film, reprising his role as Nagaraja Cholan from the original, alongside an ensemble cast including Seeman, Manivannan, his son Raghuvannan, Mrudula Murali, Komal Sharma and Varsha Ashwathi. The film, featuring music composed by James Vasanthan, was produced by Ravichandran and K. Suresh under the banner of V House Production and shot in Coimbatore and surrounding areas in one single schedule. Unlike the original, Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA opened to mixed reviews. It was Manivannan's 50th and last film as a director and actor, as he died a month after the film's release.
Kadavul (transl. God) is a 1997 Indian Tamil language film directed by Velu Prabhakaran. The film stars Velu Prabhakaran, Manivannan, Arun Pandiyan, Mansoor Ali Khan and Roja. It was released on 5 December 1997. Despite having controversial themes, the film was well received.
Mrudula Murali Mangalasseri, credited as Mrudula Murali, is an Indian actress, model, anchor and classical dancer. She appears in Malayalam and Tamil films.
24 Mani Neram is a 1984 Indian Tamil-language thriller film written and directed by Manivannan, starring Mohan, Sathyaraj, and Nalini. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja with editing by B. Kandasamy and cinematography by A. Sabapathi.
