Mirchi Music Awards are presented annually by Radio Mirchi to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi language film music industry of India. The awards, given in seventeen different categories, were instituted to award the best of 2008. In 2010, the Southern edition of the awards – Mirchi Music Awards South was launched, to award the best of 2009. through which artists from the four South Indian film industries—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam—are being honoured. In 2012, the Bengali edition of the awards – Mirchi Music Awards Bangla was launched, to award the best of 2011. The 2019 Mirchi Music Awards is co-powered by Smule, the world's largest music social network, and will have the winner of the Smule Mirchi Cover Star perform on stage at the event.
"Teri Meri" is an Indian Hindi-language song from the (2011) Bollywood film Bodyguard directed by Siddique, starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The song was sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal. The song was composed by Himesh Reshammiya, while its lyrics were penned by Shabbir Ahmed. The song along with the other tracks was released on 27 July 2011.
"Tum Hi Ho" is an Indian Hindi-language romantic song from the 2013 Indian movie Aashiqui 2, sung by Arijit Singh. It was composed and written by Mithoon. Picturised on Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, it was released by Bhushan Kumar under T-Series, leading to its popularity and remaining in the top 10 of Planet Bollywood for eight weeks and capturing the first spot on the Top 20 of MTV India for seven weeks. Rochak Kohli is an Indian music director for Bollywood films. He made his music debut in Shoojit Sircar's romantic comedy Vicky Donor with Pani Da Rang. The song was made in collaboration with Ayushmann Khurrana, the lead of the film. "Pani da rang" won the best song of 2012 at the Global Indian Music Academy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and Big Star Entertainment awards. The song also won the best "Music and Lyrics Debut" at the Mirchi Music Awards.
Samira Koppikar is a music director, composer, singer and songwriter. In 2015 she made her debut as a Bollywood music composer with the song "Maati Ka Palang" for the film NH10. The 11th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by Indian FM radio station Radio Mirchi, honoured the best music professionals of Hindi language Indian films of 2018. The ceremony was held at the Dome at the National Sports Club of India, Mumbai on 16 February 2019 and was hosted by Indian singer and actor Sonu Nigam. The event included live music performances by Badshah, Neha Kakkar, Meet Bros, Jonita Gandhi, Arko, Papon, Shivam Pathak, and Ashmik Patil, the winner of the Smule Mirchi Cover Star. A new award category, "Recreated Song of the Year," was introduced to recognize the many ‘re-creations’ released in 2018. Padmaavat won several awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Ghoomar." The show was broadcast on 17 March 2019 on Zee TV.
Meet Jain is an Indian playback singer, composer, and lyricist in the Hindi and Gujarati film industry. He became a part of the Indian reality singing show, The Voice Season 1 in the year 2015, where he was mentored by singer Shaan.
