Purulia district is one of the twenty-three districts of West Bengal state in Eastern India. Purulia is the administrative headquarters of the district. Some of the other important towns of Purulia district are Raghunathpur-Adra,Jhalda,Anara and Balarampur.

He is the son of Sisir Adhikari,Member of Parliament and former Union Minister of State for Rural Development in the Manmohan Singh government.

Baishali Dalmiya is the director of the construction company M L Dalmiya &Co. Ltd. She is a former member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. From 2016 to April 2021 she represented the Bally Assembly Constituency. She is daughter of Indian cricket administrator and businessman Jagmohan Dalmiya.
