Rajinikanth Vellalacheruvu, (born 9 January 1975) (also known as TV9 Rajinikanth) is an Indian journalist. He is the managing editor of TV9 Telugu. [1] He primarily appears as the host of shows Big News Big Debate and Cross Fire. [2] [3]

Career

Rajinikanth started his career as a reporter at Vaartha newspaper. He later worked at Siti Cable and joined TV9 Telugu in 2003 as a special correspondent where he is currently the managing editor. [1]

He interviewed Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in 2019 before Andhra Pradesh Legislative assembly elections. [4]

Rajinikanth interviewed Revanth Reddy in 2023 before Telangana Assembly elections.

He worked on WOMEN TRAFFICKING IN THE ANANTAPUR-KADAPA-CHITTOOR BELT episodes. [5] [6] [7]

In 2022, TV9 Telugu started a new format of discussions called Cross Fire with Rajinikanth. The idea of this new program is to have discussions on current issues with well known people from different domains.

The 2015 political scandal started off when the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders of Telangana state were caught in a video footage, aired in the media, offering bribes to a nominated MLA, Elvis Stephenson, for his vote in the 2015 elections of the Telangana Legislative Council. The TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was arrested by the Telangana Police when he was offering Rs. 50 lakhs to Stephenson. Reddy was then presented before the court and was sent to jail. Similarly, with N. Chandrababu Naidu, the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, with Stephenson was aired in the news media.

<i>NTR: Kathanayakudu</i> 2019 Indian film

NTR: Kathanayakudu is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language biographical drama film based on the real life and acting career of N. T. Rama Rao (NTR). It was directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati, Vishnu Vardhan Induri under NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, Vibri Media banners. It is the first installation of a two-part film. The film stars an ensemble cast with Nandamuri Balakrishna, as his father N. T. Rama Rao, Vidya Balan in lead roles. Music is composed by M. M. Keeravani. The film has a sequel, NTR: Mahanayakudu, that showcases the political journey of Rama Rao.
