The Rashtriya Janata Dal is an Indian political party,based in the states of Bihar,Jharkhand and Kerala. The party was founded in 1997 by Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Ram Vilas Paswan was an Indian politician from Bihar and the Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs,Food and Public Distribution in the first and second Modi ministries. Paswan was also the president of the Lok Janshakti Party,nine-times Lok Sabha member and two-time Rajya Sabha MP. The Lok Janshakti Party was a state political party mainly based in the state of Bihar,India. The party was formed in 2000 when Ram Vilas Paswan split from Janata Dal. The party had a considerable following amongst Dalits in Bihar. The party is factioned into two parties Lok Janshakti Party and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was an Indian politician,a socialist figure and founder of the Samajwadi Party. Over the course of his political career spanning more than six decades,he served for three terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh,and also as the Union Minister of Defence in the Government of India. A long-time parliamentarian,he was a seven-time Member of Parliament representing Mainpuri,Azamgarh,Sambhal and Kannauj constituencies in the Lok Sabha,a ten-time member of the Legislative Assembly,member of the Legislative Council and the Leader of Opposition for several times as well. The veteran politician was a prominent figure of his time in Indian Politics,and was often referred to as Netaji and Dhartiputra by party leaders and workers. Tarapur Assembly constituency is one of 243 constituencies of the legislative assembly of Bihar. It comes under Jamui. This assembly constituency contains Tarapur Block. The region is dominated by Kushwahas. In the elections of Mukhiya and the President (Pramukh) of the Block,the probability of the victory of candidates belonging to this caste group remains high. In 2022,the polls were conducted for the membership of Zila Parishad and Mukhiya,and out of ten posts of Mukhia,five were won by the candidate belonging to Kushwaha community. The two posts of member of Zila Parishad also went to candidates from the same community.
Ritlal Yadav or Ritlal Ray is a leader of RJD who won the Bihar Legislative Council election in July 2015 as an independent candidate. Ritlal was in jail in connection with multiple criminal cases,including murder charges. Ritlal is accused in over 33 cases. He was a former Member of Legislative Council (MLC),the post,to which he was elected in 2016. He was incarcerated in Beur Jail until August 2020. However he was then released from the jail on bail. Ritlal Yadav defeated BJP's Asha Devi Sinha in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections.

Sahdeo Prasad Yadav was an Indian politician and a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly of India. He represented the Kurtha constituency in Arwal district of Bihar. He had been a Mukhiya of Chitaukhar-Jalalpur Panchayat for almost 25 years. First he became an MLA in 1980 while being in Lok Dal party. He was elected in 1995 as a member of Janata Dal. Yadav started his political career in 1957 as an Independent candidate from Tikari constituency but lost. Later this constituency named as Konch,now again becomes Tikari constituency from 2010 onwards. He also fought from here as a candidate of Indian National Congress in 1967 but lost to U. N. Verma of Samyukta Socialist Party and in 1969 lost to Ram Balav Saran Singh.
Sanjay Singh Tiger is an Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Bhojpur district,Bihar. He has served as MLA in Bihar Legislative Assembly representing the Sandesh constituency from 2010 to 2015. Currently,he is the state spokesperson of BJP's Bihar unit.

Fateh Bahadur Singh commonly known as Fateh Bahadur Kushwaha is a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly for the 17th Bihar Assembly. He was elected as a candidate of Rashtriya Janata Dal from the Dehri Assembly constituency of Rohtas district. In the 2020 Assembly elections,he defeated Satyanarayan Singh of Bhartiya Janata Party,who was his nearest political rival.

Singh was a member of Janata Dal and later became a member of Rashtriya Janata Dal. He is considered as one of the close accomplice of former Bihar Chief Minister,Lalu Prasad Yadav. Singh hails from communist background and before joining politics,he was a member of armed naxalite organisations active in the Bihar's red corridor.
Raja Ram Singh Kushwaha is an Indian politician based in Bihar,who was elected to Bihar Legislative Assembly twice,from Obra Assembly constituency in Aurangabad district. He was a member of Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation. He was first elected in 1995 and retained this constituency in 2000 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections.
