Ramachandra Raju, better known as Garuda Ram, is an Indian actor who primarily appears in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. He rose to fame for his role as the antagonist Garuda in K.G.F: Chapter 1 [2] and for his dominant screen presence. [3]

Career

Prior to acting, Raju worked as Yash's bodyguard. [3] Raju made his film debut K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018), acting alongside Yash. He played the antagonist in the film and garnered acclaim for his portrayal of Garuda. His role in the film enabled him to get offers to play negative roles in several other films across the four South Indian languages. [4]

Raju made his Tamil debut playing the antagonist in Sulthan (2021) [5] [6] [7] and has acted in villain roles in Kodiyil Oruvan (2021) and Yaanai (2022).

Raju made his Telugu debut with Maha Samudram (2021) and his Malayalam debut with Aaraattu (2022).

It is the first installment in the KGF series, followed by KGF: Chapter 2. The film features an ensemble cast including Yash, Ramachandra Raju, Srinidhi Shetty, Vasishta N. <i>KGF</i> (film series) Film series

KGF is an Indian Kannada language period action film series set mostly in the Kolar Gold Fields, which gives the series its name, created by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films starring Yash in lead role with an ensemble supporting cast. Set in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the series follows two narrators, Anand Ingalangi and his son Vijayendra Ingalangi, who gives an interview of a book written by Anand to a leading news channel, which tells the life story of Raja Krishnappa Bairya alias Rocky (Yash), a Mumbai-based high ranking mercenary born in poverty and how he became the most dreaded person at that time.
