Ramgopalpet Police Station, also known as the James Street Police Station is located on the MG Road, Secunderabad (earlier known as James Street) in Secunderabad.

It falls under the central zone of the Hyderabad City Police. The Hussain Sagar lake police also comes under the jurisdiction of this police station. [1]

History

The clock was donated in 1900 to the then James Street Police Station by Dewan Bahadur Seth Ramgopal. [2] The Ramgopalpet Police Station building was designated as a heritage building by Andhra Pradesh government order dated 23 March 1998. [3] In 2016 municipal authorities asked all personnel working in the structure to vacate after the building was deemed unsafe and scheduled for demolition. [4]

The sprawling cantonment area, as well as The College of Defence Management (CDM) which is a premier establishment of the Indian armed forces, are in the vicinity of Sainikpuri. The old buildings are now slowly giving way to multi-storied apartments, and it is becoming a costlier affair to acquire living space in this area.

James Street railway station, Hyderabad

James Street railway station is a railway station in Secunderabad. The station derives it name from erstwhile James Street located adjacent to this station. This street after independence was later renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Road. Hussain Sagar Heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad, Telangana, India

Hussain Sagar is a heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad, Telangana, built by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah in 1563. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometres (2.2 sq mi) and is fed by the River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. The headquarters of the Division is at Secunderabad and its zonal headquarters is at [Secunderabad]. Even though Hyderabad has its own Division, the Hyderabad Deccan Railway Station itself falls under Secunderabad Railway Division. Secunderabad–Manmad section also known as Kacheguda–Manmad line is an important Railway route connecting the States of Telangana and Maharashtra, most Stations on this route are administrated by Hyderabad Division and Nanded railway Division.
