Ramit Singh Sethi (born June 30, 1982) is an American author, entrepreneur, and media personality. He is the author of the 2009 New York Times Best Seller, [1] I Will Teach You to Be Rich , host of the I Will Teach You To Be Rich podcast, and host of the 2023 Netflix series titled How to Get Rich. He previously co-founded PBworks, a commercial wiki website. [2] [3]

Personal life and education

Sethi attended Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, California. [4] In 2004, he graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts (Information & Society) in Science, Technology & Society with a minor in Psychology. [5] In 2005 he received a Master of Arts in sociology (Social Psychology and Interpersonal Processes), also from Stanford. [4]

In 2018, Sethi married Cassandra Campa. [6] [7]

Books, Podcast and TV

In 2009, Sethi released I Will Teach You to Be Rich . [8] He re-released an updated version in 2019. [9] The book was ranked #3 on the New York Times Best Sellers list in August 2023. [10] In 2022, he released an updated edition of the book titled I Will Teach You to Be Rich: The Journal, focusing on financial management and including practical exercises and motivational content. [11]

He also hosts the podcast I Will Teach You To Be Rich in which he speaks with couples as they navigate financial stress. [12] On April 18, 2023, a date chosen to coincide with National Tax Day in the United States, [1] a Netflix series was released titled How to Get Rich in which Sethi gives personal and financial advice to people. Why We Want You to Be Rich: Two Men, One Message is a non-fiction book about personal finance, co-authored by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki. The book was first published in hardcover format in 2006. The coauthors became familiar with each other through mutual work at The Learning Annex and Trump being impressed by Kiyosaki's writing success with Rich Dad Poor Dad. Trump and Kiyosaki co-authored another book together in 2011, Midas Touch: Why Some Entrepreneurs Get Rich-And Why Most Don't. The book discusses American economic problems including the middle-class squeeze, economic globalization, and the national debt of the United States. The Anthropocene Reviewed is the shared name for a podcast and 2021 nonfiction book by John Green. The podcast started in January 2018, with each episode featuring Green reviewing "different facets of the human-centered planet on a five-star scale". The name comes from the Anthropocene, the proposed geological epoch that includes significant human impact on the environment. Episodes typically contain Green reviewing two topics, accompanied by stories on how they have affected his life. These topics included intangible concepts like humanity's capacity for wonder, artificial products like Diet Dr. Pepper, natural species that have had their fates altered by human influence like the Canada goose, and phenomena that primarily influence humanity such as Halley's Comet.
