Rapid Tears

Rapid Tears was a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 1977 in Toronto, Ontario. [1] The members included founding member Michael J. Miller on guitar, Rick Nemes on drums, and Brian Frank on vocals. [1]

History

The first Rapid Tears' single "Operation Airlift/Tomorrow" was released on Guardian Records in 1980. [2] [3] Two Rapid Tears songs, "Discontent Intentions" and "Heart of Predestination", were featured on the compilation album released in 1982 by Chameleon Records. Later, in 1982, they released their debut album, Honestly, on Chameleon Records. The album had two cover variations and gained significant traction in Europe. [1]

In 1984, they released "Cry for Mercy", also on Chameleon Records. [1] This album received international recognition and drew comparisons to the styles of bands like Dio and Scorpions. [4] The band was also featured on City TV's The NewMusic . [1] The band disbanded in 1985. [1]

In 2016, Rapid Tears' albums were re-released by the European record label, Sonic Age Records/Cult Metal Classics. [5] The two Rapid Tears songs "Discontent Intentions" and "Heart of Predestination" were added to the "Cry For Mercy" album upon its re-release by Sonic Age Records that same year. [5]

In 2021, "Headbang" and "Wonderland" were released by the record label RidingEasy/Permanent Records on the compilation album Scrap Metal Vol 1. [6]

Stephen Andrew Rowe is an Australian musician who is the founder, bass guitarist, and vocalist of the Australian Christian death metal band Mortification, which is considered to be a pioneer in the genre. Prior to forming Mortification he was in a traditional heavy metal styled Christian band known as LightForce. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997, but made a full recovery. He is currently the owner and head of the Rowe Productions record label. In 2015, Rowe announced his retirement from Christian music. Savage Grace is an American power and speed metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by Chris Logue and Brian East, initially active between 1981 and 1993. They reformed in 2009, and subsequently released an EP entitled The Lost Grace. In 2010, they performed at the Up the Hammers, Bang Your Head!!! and Keep It True festivals.
