The Rapport Toer was a multi-day road cycling race held annually in South Africa from 1973 to 2000. [1]

The race was held as a professional event on the UCI calendar from 1993 to 2000.

Michael Andersson is a Swedish former road cyclist who was a professional rider from 1995 to 2001. He competed three times at the Summer Olympics. Andersson is a three-time winner of the Tour of Sweden. Andersson started in the Giro d'Italia two times, and in the Vuelta a España four times; the only Grand Tour he finished was the 1995 Vuelta a España.

The 1994 South Africa rugby union tour of New Zealand was a series of rugby union matches played in New Zealand by the South Africa national team from June to August 1994. The team played 14 matches in total; 11 against provincial rugby teams and 3 against New Zealand. South Africa won 10 out of the 11 matches against provincial sides, losing to Otago. They lost their first two test matches against New Zealand national and drew the last test. The South Africa coach for the tour was Ian McIntosh. This was South African's first tour to New Zealand since the controversial 1981 South Africa rugby union tour, which was received negatively by New Zealanders due to South Africa's Apartheid regime at the time.

The 2000 Indiana gubernatorial election was held on November 7, 2000. Incumbent Governor Frank O'Bannon, a Democrat, was re-elected over Republican David M. McIntosh with 57% of the vote. Libertarian Andrew Horning also ran and received 2% of the vote. O'Bannon's victory was the fourth consecutive election in which a Democrat was elected Governor of Indiana, the longest winning streak for that party in the state since the Civil War. As of 2022, this was the last time a Democrat was elected Governor of Indiana.

Ernst Bezuidenhout was a well-known South African cyclist, better known under his nickname Ertjies. He won the Rapport Tour in 1984 and the Argus three times in 1981, 1982 en 1986. Ertjies was a strong climber and won the King of the Mountains title several times during the Rapport Tour. Other cyclists of his era are Alan van Heerden and Robbie McIntosh.

Christoff Van Heerden is a South African former professional racing cyclist. In 2010 he won the South African National Road Race Championships.
