Raritan is a literary and intellectual quarterly that publishes poetry, fiction and essays. The journal is based at Rutgers University in New Jersey. [1] The magazine was founded by Richard Poirier in 1981 [1] and is currently edited by Jackson Lears. Lears began to edit it in 2002. [1] In a note accompanying the Winter 2025 issue, Lears announced that the journal "will cease publication after the Late Spring 2025 issue, the last under [his] editorship." [2]
