Rathna Kumar is an Indian film director and writer. He is known for directing Meyaadha Maan (2017). [1] [2]

Career

Kumar began his career with the low-budget film Madhu, which was included in an anthology film called Bench Talkies . He later turned the short film into a feature film titled Meyaadha Maan (2017). [3] [4] The film turned out to be a success and an important film in Vaibhav's career because the film was not a multistarrer and several of Vaibhav's successful films had only been multistarrers. [5] He went on to direct Aadai (2019), starring Amala Paul. The film released to mixed reviews, but highlighted an important aspect of society. [6] [7] [8] Kumar was signed as a co-writer to Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master . Regarding his decision of becoming a writer from a director, Kumar told The Times of India that Kanagaraj is his friend. Kumar started working with Lokesh again as a co-writer for Vijay's 67th film titled tentatively as Leo co-starring Trisha, Janany, Azeem and Sanjay Dutt as villain in the film. [9] [10]

Master is the soundtrack album composed by Anirudh Ravichander, for the 2021 Indian Tamil-language film of the same name, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by Xavier Britto under his production house XB Film Creators, starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi. This film marks Anirudh's first collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj and his second collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi and third collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi after Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Petta. The soundtrack album features eight songs written by Arunraja Kamaraj, Gana Balachandar, Arivu, Vignesh Shivan, Vishnu Edavan and Bjorn Surrao, with three of them were released as singles. Madhu is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy short film written, directed and produced by Rathna Kumar, starring Sananth, Roshini Abraham and Vivek Prasanna. Meyaadha Maan is the soundtrack album jointly composed by Santhosh Narayanan and Pradeep Kumar for the 2017 film of the same name directed by Rathna Kumar. Prior to the album release, three songs – "Thangachi Song", "Enna Naan Seiven" and "Address Song" released as singles on 7, 25 August and 13 September, and the full album was unveiled on 27 September 2017, to positive reviews from critics and audience. Post-release, the tracks "Address Song" and "Thangachi Song" gained popularity.
