Raton High School (RHS) is a public senior high school in Raton, New Mexico. It is a part of the Raton Public Schools district. [2] [3]
In 1891, the New Mexico Territorial Legislature approved taxes for the purpose of creating statewide public schools. The act was responsible for creating funding for the state's first high schools. With this act Raton High School was formed as one of the original four along with high schools in Albuquerque, Las Vegas and Silver City.
Raton High School has been a member of the NMAA since it organized in 1921.
The Raton Tigers are current members of NMAA's District 2-AAA along with Santa Fe Indian School, Santa Fe Preparatory School, Robertson High School, West Las Vegas High School and St. Michael's High School. [4]

Boys' basketball: The Raton Tigers were New Mexico State champions in 1929, 1932 and 1936
Football: The Raton Tigers were New Mexico State champions in 1956. They were the state runner-up in 1953, 1957, 1962, 1992 and 1996.
Los Alamos High School (LAHS) is the public high school in Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA. The school opened in 1946, and was originally supported by the Atomic Energy Commission. It has been academically recognized by Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, and the New Mexico Public Education Department. The school has been visited by two U.S. Presidents: John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton. LAHS currently competes in the New Mexico Activities Association's District 2, AAAA division for athletics, and has won 111 state championships in the school's history.
Cibola High School (CHS) is a public senior high school located in northwest Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is part of the Albuquerque Public Schools District. Due to rapid population growth on the west side of Albuquerque, Cibola was the largest high school in the state of New Mexico until 2006, and was overcrowded with over 3,200 students and 62 portable classrooms. School enrollment was reduced in 2007 with the opening of a new high school on Albuquerque’s west side. Volcano Vista High School opened in the fall of 2007. The following year, in 2008, CHS underwent a massive remodel and expansion of the school. The current enrollment stands at 1,762.

Sue Cleveland was established in 2009, due to overcrowding at Rio Rancho High School. Enrollment at the school stands at approximately 2600. It is the only school in New Mexico named for a currently-serving school board official, having been named after the current superintendent of Rio Rancho Public School.

Volcano Vista High School (VVHS) is a public senior high school located on the West Mesa of Albuquerque, New Mexico within the Albuquerque Public Schools District; 2014 enrollment is 2,300. The school opened in August 2007 to 9th grade students, adding 10th and 11th grades in August 2008, and 12th grade in August 2009. The first students graduated in May 2010. School colors are black, white and platinum and their mascot is the Hawks. The specific breed of hawk is cited to be a Redtail Hawk, as displayed in the school's main corridor.

Robertson High School (RHS) is a public senior high school in Las Vegas, New Mexico, United States. The school is part of the Las Vegas City Schools District in former East Las Vegas. The building dates from about 1945, when it was known as Las Vegas High School. The school was renamed Las Vegas Robertson High School in 1958, after the old Las Vegas High School burned down and a new building was constructed. W. J. Robertson had been the superintendent of the Las Vegas City Schools since 1941 when he suffered a fatal heart attack on November 26, 1956, at the age of 55. Mr. Robertson, born in Kansas on November 3, 1901, also served as principal at Las Vegas High School for many years prior. The colors of RHS are red and white, their mascot is the Cardinal. The enrollment currently stands at 414.
