Rebecca De Ruvo started in 1981 as a voice-over artist in the Swedish Christmas series Stjärnhuset . In 1986 she appeared in an episode of the family series Julpussar och Stjärnsmällar .
De Ruvo began her television career at age nineteen as a reporter in the youth program Druvan in 1988, as her mother Annika de Ruvo was a producer for Swedish Television SVT. In 1990, she presented the chart show MTV's Braun European Top 20 and in 1991, hosted MTV Prime . Beginning 6 April 1992, she led the daily MTV Europe morning show Awake on the Wilde Side as well as the daily viewers voted charts Dial MTV . In addition, she appeared as a guest hostess and cook on MTV's Most Wanted .
De Ruvo founded the music group Breaker in London who published a few single discs on Coalition Records. In 1992, she and Staffan Ling hosted TV4's program Ringling where celebrities took part in various competitions. After leaving MTV, she was the host of the daily music competition Music match on TV3 with Max Lorentz in 1995-96 as a judge. Since then she has not been active in the Swedish media, save for a guest appearance in the TV series Fråga Olle in 1999.
De Ruvo is the daughter of TV producer Annika de Ruvo, who for many years worked as a TV producer at SVT's children editorial. She has five children and describes herself as a full-time parent.

Dial MTV is a daily music video countdown program on MTV, with videos determined by viewers calling a 1-800 telephone number. It premiered on February 17, 1986 and ran until June 1991. Much like Total Request Live, Dial MTV played the most requested videos of the day, as requested by viewers who dialed in to vote for their favorite video. The show generally aired Monday through Friday for 30 minutes to one hour. The scheduling and length fluctuated over the years. By 1989 the top twelve videos were shown daily.

MTV Nordic was a pan-European cable television network launched on 5 June 1998. A 24-hour English-language network aimed at viewers in the Nordic countries and other European territories. Between 1998 and 2006 MTV Nordic served the majority of European territories under the branding MTV Europe & Nordic. The majority of programming was hosted by presenters from the Nordic countries, mainly Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Additional veejays came from Israel, United States, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The channel gradually began to localize in May 2005 with the launch of MTV Denmark and in September 2005 the launch of MTV Sweden, MTV Norway and MTV Finland, which resulted in the MTV Nordic ceasing as a brand.

Krång Anna Carolina Norén is a Swedish radio presenter for Sveriges Radio and television presenter. She has been the host of the music chart show Svensktoppen since 2007 and also commentates on Sveriges Radio's broadcasts of Melodifestivalen and the annual Eurovision Song Contest. She took the first steps to a radio career when she participated as an interviewer at the legendary Radio SBC in the Stockholm community radio in 1980-82. She also made some appearances at Stockholm University's student radio station, which eventually led her to being employed by Radio Stockholm through Sveriges Radio between 1989 and 1997.
Melodifestivalen 2016 was the 56th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The competition was organised by Sveriges Television (SVT) and took place over the six-week period between 6 February and 12 March 2016.
Sweden participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "If I Were Sorry" written by Oscar Fogelström, Michael Saxell, Fredrik Andersson and Frans Jeppsson Wall. The song was performed by Frans. In addition to participating in the contest, the Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT) also hosted the Eurovision Song Contest after winning the competition in 2015 with the song "Heroes" performed by Måns Zelmerlöw. SVT organised the national final Melodifestivalen 2016 in order to select the Swedish entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm. After a six-week-long competition consisting of four heats, a Second Chance round and a final, "If I Were Sorry" performed by Frans emerged as the winner after achieving the highest score following the combination of votes from eleven international jury groups and a public vote.
