Recording Workshop (RECW) is a school that teaches the process of music recording and audio production. It is located seven miles south of Chillicothe, Ohio, USA.
Founded in 1977 as "The Recording Workshop", the school was associated with Appalachia Sound Recording Studio. Both entities originated with Joe Waters who had started the recording studio in 1971.
In 1987, Recording Workshop was recognized with a Mix magazine TEC Award [1] Nomination as Outstanding Educational Institution. [2]

The primary course offered by Recording Workshop is the "Music Recording & Audio Production CORE Program". This lasts five weeks and provides 180 hours of training. An extension course is the "Music Recording & Audio Production ADVANCED Program". This offers two additional weeks of training, adding 80 more hours of learning experience. Both programs are presented seven times per year. [8]

TASCAM is the professional audio division of TEAC Corporation, headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California. TASCAM established the Home Recording phenomenon by creating the "Project Studio" and is credited as the inventor of the Portastudio, the first cassette-based multi-track home studio recorders. TASCAM also introduced the first low-cost mass-produced multitrack recorders with Simul-Sync designed for recording musicians, and manufactured reel-to-reel tape machines and audio mixers for home recordists from the early 1970s through the mid-1990s. TASCAM celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021.
Elliot Ray Scheiner is a music producer, mixer and engineer. Scheiner has received 27 Grammy Award nominations, four Emmy nominations, three TEC Awards nominations, a TEC Hall of Fame inductee, and was a recipient of the Surround Pioneer Award.
Pacific Audio Visual Institute (PAVI) was a private educational institution that specializes in music production and music management located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. PAVI offers one-year diploma programs in Audio Engineering & Production and Music Business Management. It was known as The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music before it was rebranded as School of Jazz and Contemporary Music and becoming part of College of Performing Arts at The New School in 2015.
The Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (OIART) is a private career college in London, Ontario, Canada. The institute trains audio engineers for a variety of careers in music production, recording arts, audio engineering, sound recording and related fields. Founded in 1983 by engineer and producer Paul Steenhuis, the college focuses solely on sound. Graduates of the OIART program receive a Diploma in Audio Recording Technology.

The Institute of Audio Research (IAR) was an educational institution in New York City. Students of IAR were offered a wide variety of academic programs in the field of music production and audio engineering. Students could choose from courses in audio electronics, digital music production, mixing music, and audio processing and storage, among others. It was founded in 1969 and closed in 2017. It has resurfaced as part of Five Towns College in 2022.

Dave Pensado is a Grammy Award-winning mix engineer. His career began in Atlanta in the 1970s and 1980s doing live and studio sound engineering. He has lived in Los Angeles since 1990. He mixes between 200 and 250 songs a year at Larrabee Studios in Los Angeles. When recording he usually records at Echo Bar Studios in North Hollywood.
