The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League. It includes teams from clubs based in the Eastern states of Australia: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
The Redcliffe Dolphins are a semi-professional rugby league club based in Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia. Founded in 1947, they were accepted into the Brisbane Rugby League (BRL) premiership competition in 1960, and since 1996 have played in the Queensland Cup. The Redcliffe Dolphins thrived in the BRL. However, the 1988 admission of the Brisbane Broncos team in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition caused the decline of the BRL.

For two decades it was the most popular football code in Queensland, however a strong desire for representative football success saw Queenslanders favour British football variants for more than a century. Queensland was awarded the first new club license in the national competition with the Brisbane Bears in 1986, however the Gold Coast based Bears had a detrimental effect until the 1993 redevelopment of the Brisbane Cricket Ground (Gabba). The club's move to Brisbane resulted in enormous growth, and a tripling of average AFL attendances by 1996.
Souths United Football Club is an Australian football (soccer) club based in Runcorn, a southern suburb of Brisbane, Queensland. The club was formed in 1962, and currently competes in the Brisbane Premier League. In May 2017, Football Queensland announced Souths United FC were among the 14 clubs accepted to form the Football Queensland Premier League for its initial season in 2018.

Croydon Kings is an Australian semi-professional soccer club in Adelaide, South Australia. Croydon Kings currently competes in the National Premier Leagues South Australia. They play home games at Polonia Reserve at Croydon in Adelaide's inner northern suburbs. They are one of the most successful sides in South Australian soccer. The Sherwood Magpies Australian Football Club is the senior Australian rules football club of the western suburbs of Brisbane which competes in Division One of the AFLQ State League. The club is based at McCarthy Homes Oval, 41 Chelmer st, Chelmer, at the same grounds as the Sherwood Junior Australian Football Club and fields a team in the AFLQ senior, reserve, under 18 and women's grade competitions. The Western Magpies AFC provides a focal point for talented players from all of the junior clubs that lie within Brisbane's western suburbs. The club aims to provide a pathway into the AFL for players from these junior clubs, develop the network of surrounding senior and junior Australian rules football clubs, and provide a fun, friendly, family oriented hub for local football in the western suburbs. Kedron Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Kedron, Queensland.
Aspley Football Club, nicknamed the Hornets, is an Australian rules football club based in the northern-Brisbane suburb of Aspley. The club competes in multiple Queensland-based competitions, including in the Queensland Australian Football League, Division 1 of the Queensland Football Association, the Queensland AFL Women's League, and several underage competitions for boys and girls. The senior men's team has in the past competed in second-tier state league competitions, notably the North East Australian Football League from 2011 to 2020 and the Victorian Football League in 2021.
The Australian Football League stages the highest-level senior Australian rules football competition in the country. However, since the late 1980s, when the former Victorian Football League expanded interstate to become the modern Australian Football League, there has not been a league-wide reserves competition; and, since 2000, there has been no dedicated reserves competition of any kind. As a result, AFL-listed players who are not selected in their senior teams are made eligible to play in one of the second-tier state leagues: the Victorian Football League, South Australian National Football League and West Australian Football League. The system used to accommodate AFL-listed players within these leagues varies considerably from state to state.

It was built and opened in 2013 and are managed by Caboolture Sports Football Club, Moreton Bay Australian Football Club and AFL Queensland's Northern Brisbane Academy Programs. It is the home ground for Caboolture Sports Football Club, playing within Football Queensland competitions, and also the home ground for Moreton Bay in the Queensland Football Association Northern Conference.
