Reed Duchscher (born July 13, 1989) is an American talent manager and investor. [1] He is the CEO and founder of Night Media, [2] and talent manager of content creators such as political livestreamer Hasan Piker, streamer Kai Cenat and Minecraft content creator Dream, [3] and former manager of YouTuber MrBeast from 2018-2024. [4] [5]

Early life

Duchscher grew up in Rugby, North Dakota and attended Rugby High School, where he participated in track and field, basketball, football, and rugby. After graduating from high school, he walked-on to play football at North Dakota State University. [6]

Career

Duchscher started his career working as an NFL sports agent. He subsequently left to work for the YouTube channel Dude Perfect on brand deals and monetization strategies. [2] [7] While working with Dude Perfect, in 2015 Duchscher started his own talent management company, Night Media. [8] Night Media focuses on management, branding and business development for digital influencers. [7] In 2018, Duchscher signed YouTube personality MrBeast to Night Media's roster. [3] In 2021, Night Media launched a venture fund focused on investing in start-ups in consumer, gaming, and the passion economy. [1]

On 24 August 2023 it was announced Duchscher would acquire LFM Management, adding Kai Cenat to his creator portfolio. [5]

In May 2024, MrBeast exited his management by Duchscher and Night Media, stating their 6 year partnership was ending on good terms. [4]

He was named to Business Insider 's list of "top talent managers of YouTube" in 2020. [10]

Duchscher was included in Dallas Magazine's "500 Most Influential People in 2020". [11]

In 2022, he was named to Business Insider's list of "22 top talent managers and agents working with YouTubers in building the future of the creator economy". [12]

Team Trees is a collaborative fundraiser that raised 20 million U.S. dollars before the start of 2020 to plant 20 million trees. The initiative was started by American YouTubers MrBeast and Mark Rober, and was mostly supported by YouTubers. All donations go to the Arbor Day Foundation, a tree planting organization that pledges to plant one tree for every U.S. dollar donated. The Arbor Day Foundation began planting in January 2020 with plans to end "no later than December 2022". It is estimated that 23 million trees would take up 210 km2 (81 sq mi) of land, absorb around 1.6 million tons of carbon and remove 116 thousand tons of pollutants from the atmosphere.

Duchscher is the CEO while the president since 2020 is Ezra Cooperstein, an early employee of the now-defunct Fullscreen and the former president of Rooster Teeth.

It received over 70 million views in 24 hours, making it his most-viewed video in that time frame.
