Reese Public Schools is a school district in Michigan. The district serves areas in Bay County, Saginaw County, and Tuscola County. [1] The office of the superintendent is located in Reese High School in Reese. [2]

In 2013, after the Buena Vista School District closed, three ex-Buena Vista students began attending Reese schools. [3]

Schools

The schools within the district are Reese Elementary School, Reese Middle School, and Reese High School. [4] Reese Middle School closed after the 2014–15 school year. Grades 6-8 were moved to the high school.

Athletics

Reese Public Schools is the home of the Rockets.

Michigan's 5th congressional district is a United States congressional district in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The district is represented by Democrat Dan Kildee. His uncle, Dale Kildee, previously represented the district. It is a mostly industrial area, with Arenac County, Iosco County, and Tuscola County being the main exceptions. From 2003 to 2013 it encompassed much of the area south of Saginaw Bay. Darnell Earley is an American public administrator and municipal manager. Formerly the city manager of Saginaw, Michigan and emergency manager of Flint, Michigan, Earley served as temporary mayor of Flint after the recall of Woodrow Stanley. Earley was appointed emergency manager of the Detroit Public Schools system in January 2015. He resigned that position in February 2016. In January 2021 he was indicted on felony charges regarding the Flint water crisis.

Buena Vista School District was a school district headquartered in Buena Vista Charter Township, Michigan, and part of the Saginaw Intermediate School District. As of July 2013, the school district closed and became a tax-collecting district of the Saginaw ISD to pay the district's outstanding debts.

The school was closed when the Buena Vista School District was dissolved in July 2013. Buena Vista's mascot was the Knights, and its colors were blue and white. The school's athletic program competed in the Greater Thumb Conference as a Class C, and later in the Highland Conference as a Class D school.

The Wolverine Secure Treatment Center (WSTC) is a private juvenile detention facility and charter school located at 2424 North Outer Drive in Buena Vista Township, Michigan, United States. The facility is owned and operated by Wolverine Human Services, and is a part of the Saginaw Intermediate School District.
