Walter Scott was the first premier of Saskatchewan from 1905 to 1916. Scott was Saskatchewan's second longest-serving Premier, serving one continuous term from 1905 to 1916). He led the Saskatchewan Liberal Party in three general elections, winning all three with majority governments before retiring. He was the first of six Liberal Premiers to date. He was succeeded by William Melville Martin. Scott was also the minister of various departments during his tenure as premier. Prior to the creation of Saskatchewan in 1905, Scott was a Member of Parliament in the federal House of Commons of Canada, elected in the general elections of 1900 and 1904.

Laura Ross is a Canadian politician. She was elected to represent the electoral district of Regina Qu'Appelle Valley in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2007 election, having previously run unsuccessfully in the electoral district of Regina Douglas Park in the 2003 election. Ross was re-elected in the 2011 election, and since then has been re-elected twice more in the riding of Regina Rochdale. She is a member of the Saskatchewan Party. In July 2010, Ross was appointed Minister for Government Services.
Mark Docherty is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2011 election. He represents the electoral district of Regina Coronation Park as a member of the Saskatchewan Party caucus. On March 10, 2018, he was elected Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. Following the 2020 general election, Docherty once again stood for election as Speaker, but was defeated on the final ballot by Randy Weekes. He resigned from the legislative assembly effective February 10, 2023.
The 2016 Saskatchewan general election, was held on April 4, 2016, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The Lieutenant Governor dissolved the Legislature on March 8, 2016, setting the election date for April 4. The election resulted in the Saskatchewan Party winning its third majority government. This is the first time in 90 years that a party other than the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) or its predecessor, the Saskatchewan Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) has won three consecutive majority governments in Saskatchewan. It is also the first time that a centre-right party has won three consecutive elections in the province.
