Reginald Fraser Amonoo is a Ghanaian academic. He is a retired professor of modern languages at the University of Ghana and the University of Zimbabwe. He is a former president of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Amonoo was born on 16 March 1932. He had his secondary education at Achimota School from 1943 to 1950. He entered the University College of the Gold Coast in 1951 and obtained his bachelor's degree in 1956. He continued at the University of Manchester in 1956 for his masters' [1] and doctorate degree which was awarded to him in October,1958. He studied at the University of Paris,Sorbonne from 1962 to 1965. [2]
A year after his studies abroad,he joined the faculty of the University of Ghana [3] as acting head and later head of the modern languages department. [4] He served in that capacity until 1980. During that period he acted as the dean of arts on various occasions. He became substantive dean of arts in 1984 until 1988. [2] He was a professor of French Literature at the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Zimbabwe [5] and also served as an external examiner for universities in Botswana,Ghana,Nigeria and Sierra Leone. [6]
Amonoo was elected as a fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1972. [7] He served as the academy's treasurer from 1977 to 1988. [2] In 1989 he served as the honorary secretary of the academic body and he became president of the academy from 2011 to 2014. [8] [9] [6]
He was a consultant for the Association of African Universities at ECOWAS,UNESCO-BREDA,Dakar on various areas,some of which include;higher education manpower requirements and training,academic standards,and equivalences of certificates and courses. [2] He was once president of the International Federation of Modern Languages and Literatures (FILLM) [10] and also an honorary treasurer for the International Council for Philosophy and Humanistic Studies (CIPSH - UNESCO). His research writings have encompassed 17th century French drama,mostly on Corneille who happened to be the subject of his D.U.P. thesis;The fortunes of Cornelian drama in France,during the Consulate,Empire and Restoration periods. His focus has also been on African literature and language problems. Some of his publications are as follows;

Amonoo was awarded the Vermilion Medal by the French embassy in Ghana for his contribution to French literature. [12]
Kofi Anyidoho is a Ghanaian poet and academic who comes from a family tradition of Ewe poets and oral artists. He is currently Professor of Literature at the University of Ghana.
John Owen Hunwick was a British academic,author,and Africanist. He published several books,articles and journals in the African Studies field. He was professor emeritus at Northwestern University,having retired in 2004 after 23 years of service. Hunwick died in Skokie,Illinois on 1 April 2015,at the age of 79.

Nathan Anang Quao,was a Ghanaian statesman and educationist who served as Secretary (Minister) at the PNDC Secretariat from 1984 to 1993 and Special Assistant to President Jerry Rawlings from 1993 to 2001. A career diplomat and civil servant,he retired as Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service in 1973. Quao was the founding headmaster of Keta Secondary School in 1953 and was appointed the first chairman of the Ghana Education Service Council in 1974.
Ernest Amano Boateng was a Ghanaian academic and public servant. He was an emeritus professor of geography who taught at the University of Ghana. He was the first vice chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and the first chairman of the then Environmental Protection Council of Ghana now Ghana Environmental Protection Agency. He served in various capacities in many institutions including the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences as its president and the West African Examinations Council as its chairman.

Priscilla Kolibea Mante is a Ghanaian neuropharmacologist,a researcher and lecturer from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,currently based at the Kumasi campus. Her research work focuses on alternatives of plant-based therapeutic options to manage drug-resistant epilepsy and the neglected tropical disease neurocysticercosis. In her work,she mostly explores the anticonvulsant activity of the plant alkaloid cryptolepine and its solid-lipid nanoparticles in the management of neurocysticercosis-induced epilepsy. Her goal is to identify a way to help cryptolepine permeate more efficiently into the central nervous system to reduce the risk of convulsion,helping patients to manage their condition as effectively as possible. Aside from her studies of epilepsy,Mante has also worked toward new therapies to alleviate pain,anxiety,and depression.
