Atukwei John Okai was a Ghanaian poet,cultural activist and academic. He was Secretary-General of the Pan African Writers' Association,and a president of the Ghana Association of Writers. With his poems rooted in the oral tradition,he is generally acknowledged to have been the first real performance poet to emerge from Africa,and his work has been called "also politically radical and socially conscious,one of his great concerns being Pan-Africanism". His performances on radio and television worldwide include an acclaimed 1975 appearance at Poetry International at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London,where he shared the stage with US poets Stanley Kunitz and Robert Lowell,and Nicolás Guillén of Cuba.
Nathan Anang Quao,was a Ghanaian statesman and educationist who served as Secretary (Minister) at the PNDC Secretariat from 1984 to 1993 and Special Assistant to President Jerry Rawlings from 1993 to 2001. A career diplomat and civil servant,he retired as Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service in 1973. Quao was the founding headmaster of Keta Secondary School in 1953 and was appointed the first chairman of the Ghana Education Service Council in 1974.
Ernest Amano Boateng was a Ghanaian academic and public servant. He was an emeritus professor of geography who taught at the University of Ghana. He was the first vice chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and the first chairman of the then Environmental Protection Council of Ghana now Ghana Environmental Protection Agency. He served in various capacities in many institutions including the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences as its president and the West African Examinations Council as its chairman.

Priscilla Kolibea Mante is a Ghanaian neuropharmacologist,a researcher and lecturer from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,currently based at the Kumasi campus. Her research work focuses on alternatives of plant-based therapeutic options to manage drug-resistant epilepsy and the neglected tropical disease neurocysticercosis. In her work,she mostly explores the anticonvulsant activity of the plant alkaloid cryptolepine and its solid-lipid nanoparticles in the management of neurocysticercosis-induced epilepsy. Her goal is to identify a way to help cryptolepine permeate more efficiently into the central nervous system to reduce the risk of convulsion,helping patients to manage their condition as effectively as possible. Aside from her studies of epilepsy,Mante has also worked toward new therapies to alleviate pain,anxiety,and depression.

Goodwin Tutum Anim,also known by the name Isaac Goodwin Aikins,was a Ghanaian journalist. He was the first African Managing Director of the Ghana News Agency and later Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Arts and Culture.
