The Registro de Emisiones y Transferencia de Contaminantes (RETC) is Mexico's Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR), [1] similar to Canada's National Pollutant Release Inventory and the US Toxics Release Inventory.

The Eje Central or Avenida Lázaro Cárdenas is an avenue in the Cuauhtémoc and Gustavo A. Madero boroughs of Mexico City, Mexico. It is part of a system called eje vial of roadways built by Carlos Hank González to modernize Mexico City for improved traffic flow through the city. As its name indicates, it runs through the central zones of the city, starting at Río de los Remedios Avenue and ending at Río Churubusco Avenue, near Eje Central metro station.

Miquel Porta is a Catalan physician, epidemiologist and scholar. He has promoted the integration of biological, clinical and environmental knowledge and methods in health research and teaching, which he has conducted internationally; notably, in Spain, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Harvard, Imperial College London, and several other universities in Europe, North America, Kuwait, and Brazil. Appointed by the International Epidemiological Association (IEA), in 2008 he succeeded the Canadian epidemiologist John M. Last as Editor of "A Dictionary of Epidemiology". In the Preface to this book he argues for an inclusive and integrative practice of the science of epidemiology. In September 2023, Porta made public through several social networks a call to suggest changes to the new, 7th. edition of the dictionary. The deadline for such contributions is 30 November 2023.

Maria Teresa González Garza y Barrón is a professor and researcher in biotechnology at Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, Monterrey Campus. She holds a doctorate in biological sciences and microbiology. Her specialties include cellular biology, molecular biology, cell therapy and ethnobiology. She performs her research with the Centro de Innovación y Transferencia en Salud and the Cátedra de Terapia Celular. She was part of a team which has had success in combating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis with stem cell therapy. Her research work has been recognized by Mexico's Sistema Nacional de Investigadores with Level II membership.

José Reyes Meza was a Mexican painter, costume and set designer, who helped to found a number of cultural institutions in Mexico. Reyes Meza began his artistic career principally in theater, although he was an active painter and even bullfighter in his early days. Painting became prominent starting in the 1970s, working on murals in various parts of Mexico as well as exhibiting canvas works in Mexico and abroad. The artist is a founding member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana and his work has been acknowledged by tributes, various awards and an art museum in Nuevo Laredo named after him.

Sonia Lorena Arriaga García is a Mexican biological engineer specializing in the bioremediation of hydrocarbon-based pollution, and in techniques for removing bioaerosols from indoor environments. She is a professor and researcher at the Instituto Potosino de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (IPICyT), in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
