Reinersville was laid out in 1848 by Samuel Reiner, and named for him. [2] A post office was established at Reinersville in 1854, and remained in operation until 1978. [3]

The county was created in 1817 and later organized in 1819. It is named for Daniel Morgan, an officer in the American Revolutionary War.
