Rephlex Records was a record label launched in 1991 in Cornwall by electronic musician Richard D. James and Grant Wilson-Claridge. The label coined the term braindance to describe output of Aphex Twin and fellow artists.

Ultravisitor is the seventh album by English electronic musician Squarepusher, released on 8 March 2004 by Warp Records. The album incorporates many of the various musical styles exhibited by Jenkinson on his previous albums, including drum and bass, acid techno, jazz fusion, and electronic noise. A few of the tracks feature layered, modulated, or filtered bass guitar. Several of the instrumental parts were recorded live and include applause, blurring the lines between live and studio performances.
Glade Festival was an electronic dance music festival, founded by Nick Ladd and Ans Guise, which originally started out as Glastonbury Festival's Glade Stage, which was established by Luke Piper and Mark Parsons who also became founding partners in Glade Festival itself. Exeter breakbeat promoter Biff Mitchell also played an important role in the event's development. The annual festival took place for the first time over four days in the summer of 2004, attracting 22,500 people by 2007. The festival's home for the first five years was the Wasing Estate, in Berkshire. In 2009 it was held in Winchester, and in 2011 and 2012 its location was at Houghton Hall in Norfolk. The festival was cancelled in 2013, it did not reappear as was planned in 2014, however the Glade Stage at the main Glastonbury festival continues.

According to the CD, the cover art is from a film called Acid Trayners 4, which seems to be different pictures of an oscilloscope. Throughout the album, the bass, hooked to an audio/midi converter, plays an important part in the composition of synth and drum parts.
"My Red Hot Car" is a single by Squarepusher, released in 2001 on Warp Records. The lead track on the single is "My Red Hot Car (Girl)", which leaves the pop music aspects of the song intact. An extended version of "My Red Hot Car" is featured on the album Go Plastic. My Red Hot Car is notable for two different hidden tracks, based on format: the CD version features an ambient piece after 23 minutes of silence, while the vinyl features a percussion-less version of "I Wish You Obelisk" presented behind a silent, locked groove, meaning the needle must be lifted halfway through the second side and placed after the locked groove in order to hear it.
Xen Cuts is a compilation album released by Ninja Tune independent record label on their tenth anniversary. The album was released in a four-piece vinyl recording (ZEN49), as two-disc CD (ZENCD049) and as a three-disc CD (ZENCD049X) versions, with the third disc "Xen Cuts Missed Flipped and Skipped" also released separately (ZENCD49C). Woo! Yeah! is a drum break that includes Bobby Byrd's ("Yeah!") and James Brown's ("Woo!") voices which has been repeatedly used in popular music, often in the form of a loop. The drum break was performed by John "Jabo" Starks. It originates from the 1972 Lyn Collins recording "Think ", a song written and produced by Brown, and is just one of a few other frequently used breaks contained in the recording, often collectively known as the Think Break.
