Los Negros was a criminal organization that was once the armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel and after a switch of alliances, became the armed wing of the Sinaloa splinter gang, the Beltrán-Leyva Cartel. In 2010 it went independent and had been contesting the control of the Beltrán-Leyva Cartel. It was then the criminal paramilitary unit of Édgar Valdez Villarreal in Mexico. Valdez was arrested on August 30, 2010 near Mexico City. Los Negros was led by Valdez at the time they merged with the Sinaloa Cartel.
Hitlercito is a Spanish webcomic written and drawn by Alejandro Cavallazzi and Tormentas. The comic is a spoof on historical conquerors, and has been reviewed in the Mexican newspaper Reforma, in an article of the student newspaper 8/ochenta of the Universidad Iberoamericana, in an article in the online magazine TVA, and in nationwide magazine Emeequis. It was also listed as an example of a webcomic in the weekly magazine Milenio. Hitlercito has recently been published in the magazine Replicante and the comic strip magazine ¡#$%&! Cómics from Monterrey.
Florencio Villarreal is one of the 81 municipalities of Guerrero, in south-western Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Cruz Grande. The municipality covers an area of 372.9 km². It is named after Col. Florencio Villarreal, who drafted the 1854 Plan of Ayutla that ousted the conservative dictator Antonio López de Santa Anna. Ousting Santa Anna initiated a new era in Mexican politics with the liberals in charge, known as La Reforma. Leaders in Guerrero took the lead in rebelling against Santa Anna's government.
Francisco Díaz de León was a Mexican graphic artist, notable for pioneering much of modern Mexican graphic arts. He spent his childhood around books and when he studied art in Mexico City, he specialized in engraving and illustration. He spent his career illustrating books, magazines and more, reviving techniques such as dry point and introducing new techniques and styles such as the use of color and linoleum printing. He was also a noted arts education, directing several schools including the Escuela Mexicana de las Artes del Libro, which he founded. He was a founding member of the Academia de Artes and a member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana. In 1969 he received the Premio Nacional de Artes for engraving.
Revista de Libros is a Spanish-language bi-monthly literary review magazine. The magazine was a print publication from 1996 to 2011. It was restarted as an online-only magazine in 2013. In 2016 the print edition was also started.
Martha P. Cotera is a librarian, writer, and influential activist of both the Chicano Civil Rights Movement and the Chicana Feminist movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Her two most notable works are Diosa y Hembra: The History and Heritage of Chicanas in the U.S. and The Chicana Feminist. Cotera was one of six women featured in a documentary, Las Mujeres de la Caucus Chicana, which recounts the experiences of some of the Chicana participants of the 1977 National Women's Conference in Houston, Texas.

Andrés Ulises Castillo Villarreal is a Mexican serial killer active in his hometown of Chihuahua City, raping and murdering at least three men and raping a teenager between 2009 and 2015. He confessed to around 12 murders, earning the nicknames "The Chihuahua Ripper" and "The Urban Development Ripper". He can be classified as an organized, sedentary and hedonistic murderer motivated by sexual compulsion. He was sentenced to 120 years imprisonment in 2017.
