General elections were held in Nepal on 15 November 1994 to elect the Nepal House of Representatives. The election took place after the previous Nepali Congress government collapsed and King Birenda called new elections. The results saw the Communist Party of Nepal win the most seats in the House of Representatives and Man Mohan Adhikari became Prime Minister at the head of a minority government.
On 24 August 2015,armed protestors affiliated with the Tharuhat Struggle Committee conducted an attack on security forces in Tikapur,a western city of Nepal. Protestors attacked officers attempting to enforce restrictions with axes,scythes,and spears killing eight,including seven police officers and a two-year-old baby. Police officer Ram Bihari Tharu was burned alive by the protestors. Supreme Court uphold the decision and decided on 16 May 2023 that Chaudhary should remain in prison until Falgun 13,2094 BS. But disgracing the rule of law and ignoring the honourable Supreme Court decision,Council of Ministers of Nepal meeting held on 28 May 2023 decided to recommend Chaudhary for the presidential pardon to be granted on 29 May 2023. President of Nepal has granted pardon on 28 May 2023,to be released on 29 May 2023 on the occasion of Republic Day.
The 2017 Nepalese local elections were held in Nepal in three phases on 14 May,28 June and 18 September in 6 metropolitan cities,11 sub-metropolitan cities,276 municipalities and 460 rural municipalities. It was the first local level election to be held since the promulgation of the 2015 constitution.

Witch-hunts are still occurring in Nepal in the twenty-first century,and the persecution of marginalised individuals of the community,especially women,still persists. Witchcraft is believed to be the exercise of supernatural powers by witches. Although Nepal does not have a recorded history of systematic witch-hunts,belief in the supernatural,magic,and humans capable of exploiting both to do good or harm is pervasive. In many instances,witch-hunts are simply tribal scapegoating measures carried out to serve ulterior motives,such as getting revenge or winning property disputes.
The People's Socialist Party,Nepal,also known as Janata Samajbadi Party is the sixth-largest political party in Nepal. Since the 2022 local election,the party has been limited to stand only as the third largest party of Madhesh Province after the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) respectively. Recently the party emerged as a member party in Socialist Front.

Mohan Raj Malla was a Nepalese politician and the first Governor of Sudurpashchim Province. The 2021 split in the People's Socialist Party,Nepal (PSP-N) was a factional dispute amongst the leadership over party control beginning in May and culminating in July,with the faction led by former Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav succeeding over the faction of former First Chairman Mahantha Thakur. The dispute was settled as a result of a decision of the Election Commission,which handed control to Yadav's faction,forcing the departure of the Thakur faction from the PSP-N and requiring the formation of a new party.

Ganga Ram Chaudhary is a Nepalese politician and member of the Nagrik Unmukti Party. He was elected in 2022 from Kailali 3 to the House of Representatives.
Lalbir Chaudhary is a Nepalese politician and father of Resham Lal Chaudhary,the founder of Nagrik Unmukti Party. He was elected in 2022 from Bardiya 2 to the House of Representatives.

Arun Kumar Chaudhary is a Nepalese politician and central member of the Nagrik Unmukti Party. He was elected in 2022 from Kailali 2 to the House of Representatives. He was arrested on 2 February 2022.
The Second Federal Parliament of Nepal,was elected by the 2022 general elections on 20 November 2022. The Kamal Bahadur Shah cabinet is the 3rd cabinet of Sudurpashchim Province. It was formed after previous Chief minister,Rajendra Singh Rawal failed to win vote of confidence.
Dharma Bahadur Chaudhary is a Nepalese politician belonging to the Nagrik Unmukti Party. He is also a member of Lumbini Provincial Assembly for Bardiya 2(B). He is the current minister of Lumbini government.
