The Nepali Congress is a social democratic political party in Nepal and the largest party in the country. The party has 870,106 members as of the party's 14th general convention in December 2021, making it the largest party by membership in Nepal. In June 2023, the party started online membership since the emergence of youth leaders in vital posts to attract youths to the party. The party is led by former prime minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba since the party's thirteenth general convention in 2016. The party won 89 seats in the 2022 general election and is currently the largest parliamentary group in the House of Representatives.
The Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party was a political party in Nepal. The party drew it support from the Terai region of Nepal. The foundation of the party was announced on December 27, 2007. The party was founded with a popular slogan "Mare to Mukti, jiye to Madhesh" meaning if I will live, I will fight for Madhesh and if I will get salvation.
Rabi Lamichhane (Nepali: रवि लामिछाने; Nepali pronunciation:[ɾʌbilamit͡sʰane] is a Nepalese politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of Nepal. An ex-journalist, Lamichhane became a member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan 2 on 28 April 2023, having previously represented the constituency from December 2022 to January 2023 before being stripped of his position by the Supreme Court.

Resham Lal Chaudhary, also Resham Chaudhary, is a Nepali former member of Parliament who has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in orchestrating and carrying out the 2015 Tikapur massacre. He has been freed on the occasion of Republic day in Nepal.
Witch hunts are still occurring in Nepal in the twenty-first century, and the persecution of marginalised individuals of the community, especially women, still persists. Witchcraft is believed to be the exercise of supernatural powers by witches. Although Nepal does not have a recorded history of systematic witch-hunts, belief in the supernatural, magic, and humans capable of exploiting both to do good or harm is pervasive. In many instances, witch-hunts are simply tribal scapegoating measures carried out to serve ulterior motives, such as getting revenge or winning property disputes.
Chanda Chaudhary is a Nepali politician and was Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens since 4 June 2021 but was removed from the post by Supreme Court on 22 June 2021 making the tenure of just 18 days and shortest till date. She was a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. She was elected to the parliament representing Rastriya Janata Party Nepal. In an interview, Chanda said that she is in favour of the death penalty for those convicted of rape.
