A dormitory, also known as a hall of residence or a residence hall, is a building primarily providing sleeping and residential quarters for large numbers of people such as boarding school, high school, college or university students. In some countries, it can also refer to a room containing several beds accommodating people.
A resident assistant (RA), also known by a variety of other names, is a trained peer leader who coordinates activities in residence halls in colleges and universities, mental health and substance abuse residential facilities, or similar establishments.
Undergrads is an adult animated sitcom centered on the lives of four college undergraduate freshmen. Originally broadcast on MTV in 2001, only 13 episodes were created. It has since been shown on Teletoon's Adult Block in Canada, and Trouble in the United Kingdom.
Warren Towers is one of the three Boston University dormitories traditionally intended for underclassmen, the others being The Towers and West Campus. The building is located at central campus, next to the College of Communication (COM) and across from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). Housing approximately 1800 students, it is the second-largest non-military dormitory in the country, behind Jester Center at The University of Texas at Austin. The closest MBTA stop is Boston University East on the Green Line B branch, located directly in front of B and C Towers, in a center reservation on Commonwealth Avenue.
Balch Hall is the only remaining all-female residence hall on the North Campus of Cornell University. Originally, Balch Hall consisted of four eighty-student halls, hence the more former name the Balch Halls, which has fallen out of use. Balch Hall is open only to female freshman and is divided into sections, known as units, each with a Residential Advisor who helps the new students acclimate themselves with the campus. Prior to the 2021-2024 renovations, the building was known for its old fashioned design as each room has a personal sink, or shares a sink with one other room.
North Campus is a mostly residential section of Cornell University's main campus in Ithaca, New York. It includes the neighborhoods located north of Fall Creek. All freshmen are housed on North Campus as part of Cornell's common first-year experience and residential initiatives.
Tilton School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school in Tilton, New Hampshire, serving students from 9th to 12th grade and postgraduate students. Founded in 1845, Tilton's student body in the 2021-22 academic year consisted of 61 day students and 129 boarding students. The typical student enrollment includes representation from 15-20 states and 10-15 countries.
Paton College are residences operated by Memorial University of Newfoundland located on the eastern end of the St. John's campus. Paton College offers traditional dormitory style housing while Burton's Pond is apartment style housing. Paton College provides accommodations for students who are attending either Memorial University, the Marine Institute, or the College of the North Atlantic.

Court–Kay–Bauer Community (CKB) is a group of freshman residence halls on Cornell University's North Campus opened to Cornell students in the fall of 2001. The building was first named Court Hall for the dormitory’s formation of a courtyard enclosed on the opposite side by Clara Dickson Hall. On October 14, 2005, the southern wing of Court Hall was renamed Bauer Hall in response to a gift of $10 million to the University by Robert and Virginia Bauer. On October 12, 2006, the middle wing of Court Hall was renamed Kay Hall, also in response to a donation of $10 million by Bill Kay. Court-Kay-Bauer Halls, as well Mews Hall, were built as a part of the North Campus Housing Initiative, and are being renamed in order to fund construction of new upper-classmen residence halls on Cornell’s West Campus. The money generated from the renaming of Court Hall has been put towards the estimated $248 million development of West Campus. Bauer Hall is the section south of the bridge, Kay Hall is the section north of the bridge, and Court Hall is the section perpendicular to Kay Hall.
There are currently 32 undergraduate residence halls at the University of Notre Dame, including 31 active residence halls and Zahm Hall, which serves as a transition dorm when residence halls undergo construction. Several of the halls are historic buildings which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each residence hall is single-sex, with 17 all-male residence halls and 15 all-female residence halls. Notre Dame residence halls feature a mixed residential college and house system, where residence halls are the center of the student life and some academic teaching; most students stay at the same hall for most of their undergraduate studies. Each hall has its own traditions, events, mascot, sports teams, shield, motto, and dorm pride. The university also hosts Old College, an undergraduate residence for students preparing for the priesthood.
Marjorie Dean is the protagonist and eponymous character of series of books for girls, written by Josephine Chase under the pen name Pauline Lester. The fourteen books were published by A. L. Burt between 1917 and 1930. Chase wrote a number of series, including the Grace Harlowe series under the pseudonym Jessie Graham Flower.
Since the founding, Stanford University has provided on-campus housing for students. Today, all undergraduate students, most graduate students, and many graduate employees use campus housing. While not all graduate students are eligible for campus or subsidized off-campus housing, of those that are, only 64% are able to take advantage of this opportunity due to the limited housing stock. Student Housing at Stanford is currently part of Residential & Dining Enterprises, an in-house standalone vendor within the Stanford affiliated network of businesses.
The Alderman Road Dormitories are one of two main areas of first-year living dormitories at the University of Virginia, the other being the McCormick Road Dormitories. There were originally eleven houses in the residence area located on Alderman Road, which were constructed in the early 1960s to accommodate a large growth in admitted students. In 2006, the University initiated a replacement project after determining that renovating the dormitories would be less cost effective and would not provide more beds for projected enrolment growth. Additionally, the University wants to provide modern amenities for its first year students. The project, which is split into four phases, were finished by 2015.
The Waa-Mu Show; wah-mew; is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization within Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, that produces student written, orchestrated, produced, and performed original musical theatre work every year. The song lyrics, script, and music are developed in a series of classes. It is the institution's longest standing theatrical tradition and is held in Cahn Auditorium on Northwestern's campus. This tradition began as a musical revue, showcasing several different student-written Northwestern-inspired vignettes connected by one single theme. By 2013, the Waa-Mu show evolved into an original full-length musical.
Freakish is an American horror television series that premiered on October 10, 2016, on Hulu. The series features several high-profile social-media stars and celebrities—including Liza Koshy, Hayes Grier, Meghan Rienks, Leo Howard, and Aislinn Paul—and focuses on a group of high-school students who are trapped inside their school when a nearby chemical plant explodes, resulting in residents and other infected students turning into mutated freaks. In July 2018, it was reported that the series had been cancelled after two seasons.
Future Man is an American comedy television series created by Howard Overman, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir that premiered on November 14, 2017 on Hulu. The series follows an underachieving janitor who is called upon to save the world. It stars Josh Hutcherson, Eliza Coupe, Derek Wilson, Ed Begley Jr., Glenne Headly, Seth Rogen and Haley Joel Osment in recurring roles and is executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. A third and final season was released on April 3, 2020. It was later removed from all Disney streaming services including Hulu and Disney+ in May 2023 due to Disney's budget cuts.

On July 26, 2019, the first part of the second season, consisting of eight episodes, premiered on Hulu. The second part of the second season was released on Hulu on October 4, 2019.
