Colton Dunn (born June 30, 1977) is an American comedian, actor and writer. He is best known for his role as Garrett McNeil on the NBC workplace comedy Superstore (2015–2021), his work on Comedy Central sketch comedy series Key & Peele (2013–2015), where he served as writer, producer, and occasionally performer throughout its five-season run, [1] , and his role as Lester Kitchens in the Netflix spy-adventure series The Recruit (2023-). Dunn also played Herman in Lazer Team (2015) and its sequel Lazer Team 2 (2017).
Born in 1977 in Normal, Illinois, Dunn moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, with his mother, when he was a toddler. While attending Saint Paul Central High School, he was involved in theater and joined an improv comedy group. Dunn moved to New York in 1998, and while there, worked for Late Night with Conan O'Brien . He then moved to Los Angeles in 2004. [2]
Prior to working on Key & Peele, Dunn was a writer and performer on madTV , from 2005 to 2009. [3] He has also appeared in Parks and Recreation , [4] Nick Swardson's Pretend Time , Game Shop, Burning Love , [5] a small part on CollegeHumor's If Google Was a Guy and co-starred as Garrett McNeil in Superstore on NBC. [6] Dunn hosted the comedy variety show RT-ES, produced by Rooster Teeth Productions, and co-starred in their sci-fi action comedy Lazer Team in 2016. [7]
He is an alumnus of the improvisational comedy group Boom Chicago and has performed and taught at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre since 1999. [8]
Dunn has received two Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series for his work on Key & Peele. [9] [10]
In 2019, Dunn appeared on the podcast Hello from the Magic Tavern as a talking crossbow in the episode "Wizard with a Crossbow". [11] He reprised this role in March 2022 in the season 4 episode "Talking Crossbow Visits". [12]

He was a co-founder, former chief executive officer, and former chief creative officer of Rooster Teeth. He is noted for his contributions in machinima, a form of film-making that uses video game technology in its production, and also works with animation and live action. Burns is also known for his work in the hosting and podcasting field.
Matthew Jay Hullum is an American film director, producer, writer, actor and visual effects supervisor living in Austin, Texas. He was one of five co-founders and former CEO of production company Rooster Teeth, which specializes in online content, including live-action series, podcasts, animation and machinima, an art using game engines to create films.
Keegan-Michael Key is an American comedian, actor, producer and writer. He and Jordan Peele co-created and co-starred in the sketch series Key & Peele (2012–2015) for which he received one Primetime Emmy Award from ten nominations. He also acted in the sketch series Mad TV (2004–2009), sitcom Playing House (2014–2017), the comedy series Friends from College (2017–2019) and the series Reboot (2022). The first season of Superstore, the American television series, was ordered on January 14, 2015. The series was picked up by NBC on May 7, 2015. It debuted on November 30, 2015, with a two-episode premiere. The series was created by Justin Spitzer, who also serves as an executive producer. The season ended on February 22, 2016. The first season originally had an episode order of 13 episodes, but it was later trimmed by NBC to 11 episodes due to scheduling, and The Voice returning to schedule.

On May 15, 2016, NBC announced that Superstore would be moving to Thursdays in the 8 p.m. time slot, leading off NBC's Thursday night primetime programming in the 2016–17 season. Lazer Team 2 is a 2017 American science fiction action comedy film directed, produced and co-written by Matt Hullum and Daniel Fabelo. The film is a sequel to 2015's Lazer Team, and follows the team traveling through a wormhole to find their missing friend Woody. It was released on YouTube Red in November 2017. It received positive reviews, with critics generally considering it to be an improvement from its predecessor. Financially, it grossed less than $20,000, significantly less than its predecessor.
