Resolution was a talent and literary agency with headquarters in Los Angeles, California. It was formed by Jeff Berg, the former chairman of ICM Partners. [1] Resolution represents artists including Lindsay Lohan, Roman Polanski, Molly Ringwald, David Duchovny, Gina Gershon, and Haley Joel Osment.[ citation needed ] As of 2014, the year it went out of business, Resolution was one of the ten largest agencies in the United States.[ citation needed ]

Formation

On January 28, 2013, Berg left ICM after the management buyout in October 2012, and opened Resolution. [2] The new agency was capitalized with a $200 million investment from Jahm Najafi, a former Salomon Brothers banker active in private equity. [3]

Closure

In March 2014, Bison Capital, a Chinese investment firm, made an investment in Resolution. During 2014, the agency saw the departure of several key agents. In October 2014, it was reported that Bison Capital had withdrawn its funding, and the agency would close down its operations. [4] [5]

Open Road Films, LLC is an American film production and distribution company based in Los Angeles, California. It was launched in March 2011 as a joint venture between the two largest American theatrical exhibitors, AMC Theatres and Regal Entertainment Group, which both owned the company. It was acquired by Tang Media Partners, a media company owned by Donald Tang, in August 2017. After Tang's purchase, both companies Open Road and IM Global merged and formed "Global Road Entertainment". In September 2018, Open Road declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The bankruptcy did not effect TMP, IM Global or IM Global TV. On November 6, 2018, Open Road agreed to be purchased by Raven Capital Management. Raven completed its acquisition in February 2019.
