Halland is one of the traditional provinces of Sweden (landskap), on the western coast of Götaland, southern Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Småland, Scania and the sea of Kattegat. Until 1645 and the Second Treaty of Brömsebro, it was part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Its name means Land of Rocky Slabs referring to the coastal cliffs of especially the northern part of the region.
Skåneland or Skånelandene (Danish) is a region on the southern Scandinavian peninsula. It includes the Swedish provinces of Blekinge, Halland, and Scania. The Danish island of Bornholm is traditionally also included. Skåneland has no official recognition or function and the term is not in common usage. Equivalent terms in English and Latin are "the Scanian Provinces" and "Terrae Scaniae" respectively. The term is mostly used in historical contexts and not in daily speech. In Danish, Skånelandene is used more often. The terms have no political implications as the region is not a political entity but a cultural region, without officially established administrative borders.

During the last 15 years, it has gone from a garrison town to a developed commercial city, today attracting visitors in the summertime mainly from Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands.
The Gotland Regiment is a Swedish Army armoured regiment which has been active in various forms between 1963–1994 and 2000–2005, when it was disbanded. The regiment was re-established on 1 January 2018. The regiment is based in Visby as part of the Gotland Garrison.
Southern Military District, originally I Military District was a Swedish military district, a command of the Swedish Armed Forces that had operational control over Southern Sweden, for most time of its existence corresponding to the area covered by the counties of Malmöhus, Kristianstad, Blekinge, Kronoberg, Jönköping and Kalmar. The headquarters of Milo S were located in Kristianstad.
Scania, also known by its native name of Skåne, is the southernmost of the historical provinces of Sweden. Located in the south tip of the geographical region of Götaland, the province is roughly conterminous with Skåne County, created in 1997. Like the other former provinces of Sweden, Scania still features in colloquial speech and in cultural references, and can therefore not be regarded as an archaic concept. Within Scania there are 33 municipalities that are autonomous within the Skåne Regional Council. Scania's largest city, Malmö, is the third-largest city in Sweden, as well as the fifth-largest in Scandinavia.
South Scanian Regiment, designation P 7, is a Swedish Army armoured regiment that traces its origins back to 1811. It was converted from an infantry regiment in 1963 and renamed from South Scania Infantry Regiment. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from the region of Scania (Skåne), and it is currently garrisoned in Revingehed outside Lund, in Skåne County.
The Air Defence Regiment, is the only anti-aircraft regiment in the Swedish Armed Forces. Its new organisation was introduced in 2000, when all other anti-aircraft units in Sweden were disbanded. The regiment is located in Halmstad and has the responsibility for training two air defence battalions and one home guard battalion.
The Defence Act of 2000 was a defence act passed by the Swedish Riksdag on 30 March 2000, and the largest reorganisation of the Swedish Armed Forces since the Defence Act of 1925. The act was a continuation of the policies set in motion by the Defence Act of 1996: shifting the military's focus from the defence of Swedish territory to a more flexible "operational defence* for smaller-scale peacekeeping operations in foreign nations. Many military formations were disbanded as a result.
The Swedish Armoured Troops is the armoured branch of the Swedish Army. Since 2005, the Armoured Troops include the South Scanian Regiment in Revingehed, Skaraborg Regiment in Skövde, Norrbotten Armoured Battalion in Boden, and since 2018 also Gotland Regiment.
North Scanian Infantry Regiment, designation I 6, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that operated from 1812 to 1963. The unit was based in the Kristianstad Garrison in Kristianstad. In 1963 the regiment was transferred to the Swedish Armoured Troops under the name of North Scanian Regiment.
Major General Anders Gösta Hökmark was a Swedish Army officer. His senior commands include postings as Chief of the Army Staff and the General Staff Corps (1976–1979) and military commander of Bergslagen Military District (1979–1983).

The unit was formed in 1963 when North Scanian Infantry Regiment was converted from an infantry regiment to and armoured regiment.
The Scanian Dragoon Regiment, designated P 2 and P 2/Fo 14, was an armored regiment of the Swedish Army with its roots in the 17th century. The unit was first based in Helsingborg and later in Hässleholm.
The Scanian Logistic Battalion was a Swedish Army logistic unit operating between 1894 and 1994. The unit was based in Hässleholm.
Lieutenant General Fale Faleson Burman was a Swedish Army officer. Burman served as commander of Göta Life Guards (1951–1955), as Inspector of the Army Signal Troops (1955–1959) and as Commanding General of the VII Military District (1959–1963) and the III Military District (1963–1966).
The Southern Military District was a military district within the Swedish Armed Forces from 2000 to 2005. Its staff was located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The military district included Jönköping, Kalmar, Blekinge, Skåne, Halland and Västra Götaland counties.
Lieutenant General Sven-Åke Jansson was a senior Swedish Army officer. He served as commander of Gotland Military Command (1988–1994) and as Commanding General of the Southern Military District (1994–1998).
