Rex Smith is an American politician from Kentucky who was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995. Smith was first elected in 1986 after incumbent representative Joel Ellington unsuccessfully ran for the Kentucky Senate. [1] He did not seek reelection in 1994 and was succeeded by Republican Kathy Hogancamp. [2] In 2010 he was the Democratic nominee for the 2nd senate district,losing to incumbent Bob Leeper.

In September 2010,he announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for governor in the 2011 gubernatorial election. On May 17,2011,Williams secured the Republican nomination over Tea Party movement-backed Phil Moffet. However,he lost the general election by twenty points to incumbent Democratic Governor Steve Beshear. In November 2012,Williams resigned his Senate seat to accept a circuit court judgeship.
Steven Lynn Beshear is an American attorney and politician who served as the 61st governor of Kentucky from 2007 to 2015. He served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1974 to 1980,was the state's 44th attorney general from 1980 to 1983 and was the 49th lieutenant governor from 1983 to 1987.

Richard H. Lewis was an American politician from Kentucky who was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1970 to 1975 and 1989 to 1995. Lewis was first elected in 1969 after incumbent representative and former speaker of the house Shelby McCallum retired. He resigned from the house in March 1975 in order to join the executive staff of governor Julian Carroll. Lewis returned to the house in 1988,defeating incumbent representative J. R. Gray for renomination. He retired from the house in 1994.
