Rhapsody of Realities is a Christian daily devotional publication by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. It was first published January 2001 in English and by August 2022, it was reported to have been published in over 7,000 languages. [1] In 2011, it distributed 2 million copies each month globally. [2] During the celebration of its 20th year in print, the publishers reported the devotional has reached a global coverage of all 242 countries and territories of the world with over 3.6 billion copies circulated in 20 years. Contents

The book is released in physical print, audiobook and e-book monthly. It has an article for each day of the month with a daily bible study plan to complete reading the Bible in one and two years. It has variants for Children called Rhapsody of Realities for Early Readers, [5] Teevo for Teenagers, [6] and Braille version for the visually impaired. [7] [8]

Languages

In 2015, Rhapsody of Realities was published in 664 languages with 38 from Nigeria. [9] In 2022, publishers stated they faced challenges with the translations because a large percentage of the world's languages face extinction but had reached 7,000 languages. [1] [10]

Reach Out Campaign

The Reach Out Campaigns began with Reach Out Nigeria where free copies of Rhapsody of Realities were distributed in Nigeria with carnival floats across major cities in the country on October 1, 2007, to celebrate Nigeria's Independence. Subsequent editions featured community development projects, and other activities to instil a sense of patriotism and inspire positive change among Nigerians. [11] Other countries with Christ Embassy Churches began organizing Reach Out Campaigns also. In 2013, Christ Embassy launched Reach Out Nigeria with 20 million copies for distribution [12] and by 2015, 30 million copies were planned for distribution all over the country, Nigeria. In the city of Warri alone, 2 million copies were distributed in 2019. [13]

Reach Out Foundation

The Reach Out Foundation was registered in 2010 to manage the Community Development projects birthed by the distribution of Rhapsody of Realities in different communities. In Warri, an ICT center was donated in 2011, and by 2013, the foundation provided a Hilux truck, 500 mattresses, a generator and computers to the Nigerian Prisons Service. [14] 35 inmates were given a scholarship to study at the Open University in Nigeria. [11]

In 2015, the foundation donated Hospital Equipment to the state owned Government facility, continued its Warri Prison Project, organized Medical Outreach At 8 Locations, and organized Football Tournament Amongst Community Youths And Clubs, Rhapsody of Reality Distribution from October to December across Nigeria. [15] By 2017, the foundation built a Skill Acquisition Centre for prisoners in Warri and boreholes to provide water for different communities across the city of Warri. [16] In 2019, 100 school children in Kaduna were given scholarship to return to schools by the foundation [17] and in 2021, the foundation built and donated a Police Station, 22.5kva generator, borehole and a surveillance van to the Nigerian Police Force in Edo State. Delta State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Named after the Niger Delta—a large part of which is in the state—the state was formed from the former Bendel State on August 27, 1991. Bordered on the north by Edo State, the east by Anambra and Rivers States, and the south by Bayelsa State, while to the west is the Bight of Benin which covers about 160 kilometres of the state's coastline. The State was initially created with 12 local government areas in 1991 which was later extended to 19 and now has 25 local government areas. Asaba as its state capital is located along the River Niger on the northeastern end of the State, while the state's economic centre is the twin cities of Warri and Uvwie.

Edo, officially known as Edo State, is a state located in the South-South geopolitical zone of the federal republic of Nigeria. As of 2006 National population census, the state was ranked as the 24th populated state (3,233,366) in Nigeria. The state population figures is expected to be about 4,777,000 in 2022. Edo State is the 22nd largest State by landmass in Nigeria. The state's capital and largest city, Benin City, is the fourth largest city in Nigeria, and the centre of the country's rubber industry. The Itsekiri are one of the Yoruboid subgroup of Nigeria's Niger Delta area, They speak a Yoruboid language and can be found in Delta State. The Itsekiris presently number 2.7 million people and live mainly in the Warri South, Warri North and Warri South West local government districts of Delta State on the Atlantic coast of Nigeria. Significant communities of Itsekiris can be found in parts of Edo and Ondo states and in various other Nigerian cities including Lagos, Benin City, Port Harcourt and Abuja. Many people of Itsekiri descent also reside in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. The Itsekiris are closely related to the Yoruba of South Western Nigeria and also close to the Okpe people and Edo peoples. The Itsekiris traditionally refer to their land as the Kingdom of Warri or 'Iwere' as its proper name – which is geographically contiguous to the area covered by the three Warri local government districts. The area is a key centre of Nigeria's crude oil and natural gas production and petroleum refining and the main town Warri forms the industrial and commercial nucleus of the Delta State region.

He has been in jail awaiting trial since April 2017 at the Port Elizabeth High Court for rape, racketeering, and human trafficking. He is alleged to have groomed his victims and began molesting them from the age of 14. He was arrested by the South African priority crimes unit, Hawks, on 20 April 2017 at the Port Elizabeth International Airport.
