Rhys Ford is an American author of LGBT mysteries, urban fantasy, thrillers, and contemporary fiction. She was born and raised in Hawai'i and is of Hawaiian and mixed race descent. After graduating from The Kamehameha Schools on O'ahu and attending the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, Ford moved to San Diego, California. She was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award for Gay Fiction for her novel Murder and Mayhem in 2016 and for Tramps and Thieves in 2018.

Contents

Her first novel, Dirty Kiss was published by Dreamspinner Press in July 2011.

Lambda Literary Awards, also known as the "Lammys", are awarded yearly by Lambda Literary to recognize the crucial role LGBTQ+ writers play in shaping the world. The Lammys celebrate the very best in LGBTQ+ literature. The awards were instituted in 1989.

Lambda Literary Awards are awarded yearly by the United States-based Lambda Literary Foundation to published works that celebrate or explore LGBTQ themes. The awards are presented annually for books published in the previous year. The Lambda Literary Foundation states that its mission is "to celebrate LGBT literature and provide resources for writers, readers, booksellers, publishers, and librarians—the whole literary community."

Jean M. Redmann, known professionally as J. M. Redmann and R. Jean Reid, is an American novelist best known for her Micky Knight mystery series, which has won the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Mystery three times and been a finalist four times.

Beth Bernobich is an American science fiction and fantasy writer. She also goes by the pen name Claire O'Dell. She was born in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania in 1959. Her first novel, Passion Play was published by Tor Books in October 2010, and won the Romantic Times 2010 Reviewer Choice Award for Best Epic Fantasy. Her novel, A Study in Honor was published by Harper Voyager in July 2018 and won the 2019 Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Mystery.

The Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Fiction is an annual literary award, presented by the Lambda Literary Foundation to a work of fiction on lesbian themes. As the award is presented based on themes in the work, not the sexuality or gender of the writer, men and heterosexual women may also be nominated for or win the award.

The Lambda Literary Award for Drama is an annual literary award, presented by the Lambda Literary Foundation to an LGBTQ-related literary or theatrical work. The Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Poetry is an annual literary award, presented by the Lambda Literary Foundation to a lesbian-themed book of poetry by a female writer. At the first two Lambda Literary Awards in 1989 and 1990, a single award for LGBT Poetry, irrespective of gender, was presented. Beginning with the 3rd Lambda Literary Awards in 1991, the poetry award was split into two separate awards for Lesbian Poetry and Gay Poetry, which have been presented continuously since then except at the 20th Lambda Literary Awards in 2008, when a merged LGBTQ poetry award was again presented for that year only.

Andrea Bramhall is a British writer. Her novel Clean Slate won the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Romance. She's also been a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Romance twice and Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Mystery twice.

Marshall Thornton is an American writer of gay and lesbian mysteries best known for his Boystown series. He's won the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Mystery thrice and has been a finalist for the award six times. He's also been a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Romance twice and placed second for the Rainbow Award for Gay Romantic Comedy in 2016.
