Guatemala competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing, People's Republic of China from August 8 to August 24, 2008. In what was the country's fourteenth Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. A total of twelve athletes competed in nine sports and twelve distinct events. It was the lowest number of participants for Guatemala since the 1980 Games in Moscow, USSR. Three of the twelve athletes were taking part in their second Olympics, and one of them, race walker Luis García, participated in his fourth. In any event that involved a progression through rounds, the Guatemalan athletes did not advance past the first round; as of the Beijing Olympics, there had yet to be a Guatemalan medalist. At the opening ceremony, badminton player Kevin Cordón bore Guatemala's flag.
Vincent Charles Hancock is an American shooter and Olympian who won the gold medal in the men's skeet at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, 2012 Summer Olympics in London and 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He is the first skeet shooter to repeat as the Olympic champion.
Qatar competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its eighth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation sent by the Qatar Olympic Committee consisted of twelve athletes in athletics, shooting, swimming and table tennis. Choudai did not progress beyond the preliminary stages of the men's 100 metres, while Borg advanced to the first round of the women's 100 metres before being eliminated. William Chetcuti finished ninth in the double trap shooting event, while Andrew Chetcuti and Muscat were unable to progress to the first rounds of their respective swimming disciplines.

A total of 110 Egyptian athletes participated in 83 events across 20 sports, with more women taking part than ever before. The nation's flagbearer in the opening ceremonies was Hesham Mesbah, a judoka who was Egypt's only medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Egypt won two medals during the course of the Games: Alaaeldin Abouelkassem earned silver in the men's foil, becoming the first competitor from an African nation to win a fencing medal, while Karam Gaber captured silver in the men's 84 kg Greco-Roman wrestling event. Two Egyptian weightlifters were awarded medals retroactively, after higher-ranked competitors were disqualified for doping: Abeer Abdelrahman took silver in the women's 75 kg event, while Tarek Yehia, received bronze in the men's 85 kg event. Among other achievements, Mostafa Mansour was the nation's first competitor in sprint canoeing while fencer Shaimaa El-Gammal became the first Egyptian female to appear in four editions of the Olympics.

He won the World Championships in Skeet Men at Lonato World Cup 2003, defeating Eric Wandtdal and Olympic silver medalist Tore Brovold, Diego also is holder of the Panamerican Record with 149/150, He won a bronze medal in men's skeet shooting at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with a total score of 148 points.
Jorge Nicolás Atalah Moya is a Chilean sport shooter. He won a silver medal in men's skeet shooting at the 2004 ISSF World Cup in Americana, São Paulo, Brazil, with a total score of 147 points. Atalah is also the son of Nicolas Atalah, who competed in the same event at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico.
George Raymond Barton is an Australian sport shooter. He won a bronze medal in men's skeet pair shooting, along with his brother Clive Barton, at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, with a total score of 183 points.
Francisca Crovetto Chadid is a Chilean sport shooter. She won a silver medal in the women's skeet at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, accumulating a score of 89 targets, and a bronze medal in the same event at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.
Cornelis Huig Jan "Jan-Cor" van der Greef is a Dutch sport shooter. He has competed for the Netherlands at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and also established a junior world record for a fifth-place finish at the 2003 European Championships in Brno, Czech Republic. Van der Greef is a member of Snip Shooting Club and a resident athlete of the Royal Netherlands Shooting Federation, where he trains under head coach Nelia Heemskerk.
Amr El-Gaiar is an Egyptian sport shooter. He was selected to compete for Egypt at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and also won a gold medal in skeet shooting at the 2003 African Championships in Pretoria, South Africa. A full-fledged member of the Egyptian Shooting Federation, El-Gaiar trains under national head coach and five-time Olympian Mohamed Khorshed at Doki Shooting Club in his native Cairo.
