Richard Formby is a British musician, engineer and producer. [1] As well as releasing his own solo music, he has been a member of various bands. Formby produced the albums Two Dancers (2009) and Smother (2011) by Wild Beasts, as well as Some Say I So I Say Light (2013) by Ghostpoet and News from Nowhere (2013) by Darkstar. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Biography

Formby has released his own solo electronic experimental music as well as being a member of The Jazz Butcher and In Embrace. [6] [7] He was part of Peter Kember's post-Spaceman 3 project Spectrum, for the album Soul Kiss (Glide Divine) (1992). [8] [9]

He owns a studio in Leeds. [6]

Wild Beasts

Wild Beasts were an English indie rock band, formed in 2002 in Kendal. They released their first single, "Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants", on Bad Sneakers Records in November 2006, and subsequently signed to Domino Records. They have released five acclaimed albums, Limbo, Panto in 2008, Two Dancers in 2009, Smother in 2011, Present Tense in 2014 and Boy King in 2016. Two Dancers was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Smother is the third studio album by British indie rock/dream pop band Wild Beasts released on 9 May 2011 by Domino Records. It reached #17 in the UK Albums Chart. According to the band, it represents a more synthesiser-based sound than previous efforts, influenced by "moving to Dalston", Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector, minimalist composer Steve Reich, noise pop duo Fuck Buttons, and Mary Shelley's book, Frankenstein.

Ghostpoet British singer, songwriter and musician (born 1983)

Obaro Ejimiwe is a British singer, songwriter and musician better known by his stage name Ghostpoet. His first album, Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam, was shortlisted for the 2011 Mercury Prize. His 2015 album Shedding Skin was also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. Following release of his fourth album, Dark Days + Canapés, on 18 August 2017. His fifth album I Grow Tired But Dare Not Fall Asleep was released on 1 May 2020.

Woodpecker Wooliams was the musical moniker of Brighton, UK-based musician Gemma Williams. She produced music as Woodpecker Wooliams from 2009 to 2013, releasing the studio albums Diving Down (2009) and The Bird School of Being Human (2012). Williams has since worked on Becky Becky with Peter J D Mason.
