Richard H. Lineback (born 1936) is President and Founder of the Philosopher's Information Center, Founder and Editor of The Philosopher's Index, and is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Philosophy at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. [1]
Dr. Richard H. Lineback is president of the Philosopher's Information Center, publisher of The Philosopher’s Index. [2] Dr. Lineback founded The Philosopher's Index in 1966, [3] and subsequently established the Philosopher's Information Center in 1967 [4] and the Philosophy Documentation Center in 1970. [5] As director of both centers, he served as editor of The Philosopher’s Index, coeditor of the International Directory of Philosophy and Philosophers, [6] assistant editor of the Directory of American Philosophers, [7] and general editor of the book series Bibliographies of Famous Philosophers. Dr. Lineback still serves as president of the Philosopher's Information Center and editor of The Philosopher’s Index.
Dr. Lineback earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Indiana University. He later received specialized training in medical ethics at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Lineback is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Philosophy at Bowling Green State University, [8] where he principally taught medical ethics for 35 years. He also taught medical ethics at the Medical College of Ohio School of Nursing. He served on numerous hospital ethics committees in Ohio, including Riverside Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio and Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio where he consulted for over 20 years.
Notable for his broad range of academic interests that in addition to philosophy include computer and information science, Dr. Lineback served as a consultant to the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, among other national organizations. He served as president of the Association of Philosophy Journal Editors and president of the National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS). He had the honor of being a delegate to the White House Conference on Library and Information Sciences and is an honorary fellow of NFAIS. [9]
Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is a public research university in Bowling Green, Ohio. The 1,338-acre (541.5 ha) main academic and residential campus is 15 miles (24 km) south of Toledo, Ohio. The Slater Family Ice Arena is a 5,000-seat hockey arena on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. It is home to the university's men's ice hockey team, the Bowling Green Falcons, which plays in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. It was built from 1965 to 1967 for a cost of $1.8 million and opened in February 1967. The arena originally had seating for 2,863 until 1989 when it was expanded to its current size of 5,000. Formerly known as the BGSU Ice Arena, it was renamed in 2016.
Mercy College of Ohio is a private Roman Catholic nursing school in Toledo and Youngstown, Ohio. It was founded as the Mercy School of Nursing in 1918 by the Sisters of Mercy. Anderson Arena is an indoor arena located in Memorial Hall on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and is currently home to the Bowling Green Falcons women's gymnastics team. The arena, which opened in 1960, served as the home arena for the Bowling Green men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team until 2011. Following their season finales in 2010 and 2011, the teams moved into the newly built Stroh Center on the east side of campus. It originally had a seating capacity of 4,700 people for basketball games. For gymnastics meets, the capacity is 2,800.

The Bowling Green Falcons are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Bowling Green State University (BGSU), in Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. The Falcons compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division. The men's ice hockey team competes in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); men's soccer will move to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) in 2023, following the MAC shutting down its men's soccer league at the end of the 2022 season. Bowling Green sponsors teams in seven men's and 11 women's NCAA-sanctioned sports and the football team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level for college football. BGSU Firelands is a satellite campus of Bowling Green State University in Huron, Ohio. BGSU Firelands is located near the shores of Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio, about 60 miles (97 km) east of Bowling Green, Ohio. It is a separate college of the Bowling Green State University system. BGSU Firelands has been a regional campus of BGSU since 1968, when the first building at the Huron location was opened. Before that, classes were held in Sandusky High School until this building was completed. The campus practices open admissions. BGSU Firelands had over 2,100 students enrolled as of fall 2019, 40% of whom were dual-enrolled high school students.

The 2009–10 Bowling Green Falcons men's ice hockey season was the Falcons' 41st season of varsity hockey and 39th in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). The Falcons finished the year as the eleventh place team in the CCHA and in the first round of the CCHA Hockey Tournament, they lost to the sixth seed Nebraska Omaha. The team was coached by Dennis Williams in his first and only season as the program's head coach.
