Forum for the Restoration of Democracy–Kenya (FORD–Kenya) is a Kenyan political party. The party has sat in the government of Kenya once, under the National Rainbow Coalition, from 2003 to 2007, having ended forty years of one party rule. In April 2022, the party joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition for the August 2022 elections, and is headed by Moses Wetangula, the current speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya. The party tends to be more popular among the Luhya people.
Makueni County is a county in the former Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Wote. The county has a population of 987,653. The county lies between Latitude 1° 35' and 2° 59' South and Longitude 37° 10' and 38° 30' East. It borders Machakos to the North, Kitui to the East, Taita Taveta to the South and Kajiado to the West and covers an area of 8,008.9 km2.
Gideon Musyoka Ndambuki is a Kenyan politician. He has been the Kaiti Constituency MP since 1997 when the constituency was established, and was a minister between 1998 and 2002. At the 1997 and 2002 elections he won the seat representing the KANU party, but represented the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya at the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He unsuccessfully vied for the Makueni County Senate seat during Wiper Democratic Party nominations in the run-up to the 2013 General Elections in Kenya. Educated in the US, he was an employee of the Commercial Bank of Africa in the 1980s, and more controversially, Managing Director of Trade Bank between 1986 and its collapse in 1993.

Mutula Kilonzo was a Kenyan politician and Senior Counsel, who served as Minister of Education after having previously served as the Minister for Nairobi Metropolitan and justice and constitutional affairs He belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya and was elected to represent the Makueni County as Senator in the 2013 general elections.

Sub-counties, also known as Districts, are the decentralised units through which government of Kenya provides functions and services. At national level, sub-counties take a more administrative function like security, statistical purposes, provision of government services, etc. Even though the sub-counties are divisions of counties, powers to create new national sub-counties lies with the national government. As of 2023, there are 314 sub-counties, compared to 290 constituencies. A deputy county commissioner is appointed by the state to lead each sub-county. The sub-counties are further divided into divisions, locations and sub-locations.

Kethi Diana Kilonzo is a Kenyan lawyer, lecturer and accountant. She is the daughter of the late Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo and is most notable for her performance as the head counsel for Africa Centre for Open Governance's petition against the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as the President of Kenya. Kethi Diana Kilonzo argued against the results announced by IEBC Chairman Isaack Hassan and cited the results as not credible. The petition, which had been filed alongside that of the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy, sought to nullify the 2013 election, which the two petitioners claimed to have been altered by the first respondent under the leadership of the second respondent to the advantage of the third and fourth respondents that is the president and deputy president of Kenya, respectively. The petition was heard by a panel of six Supreme Court judges, headed by Willy Mutunga
On 27 April 2013, Kenyan politician and lawyer Mutula Kilonzo, who was serving as the first Senator of Makueni County, died at his ranch in Maanzoni, Machakos County. A requiem mass was held at the Nairobi Baptist Church in Nairobi on 8 May, followed by his burial at his home village in Makueni County, in line with his wishes.

He is a member and chair of the Wiper Democratic Movement, Kenya and was elected as the second Senator of Makueni County Government on the WDM-K ticket in a by-election in July 2013, after the demise of his father lawyer Mutula Kilonzo and is currently serving as the second Governor for Makueni county, having been elected in the August 2022 elections. He is married to Anita Mutula and they are blessed with two children

Dr. Patrick Musimba MP is a Kenyan politician and Member of the National Assembly representing the Kibwezi West Constituency in Makueni County.He is now vying for the gubernatorial seat of Makueni county in the 2022 elections. He was first elected to Parliament in March 2013 as an independent candidate, but announced in June 2019 that he was joining the Wiper party.
