The Riffa Views Skins Game is a skins game, that is contested by some of the world's top golfers. It is currently sponsored by the host, Riffa Views Estates in Bahrain.

A skins game is a type of scoring for various sports. It has its origins in golf but has been adapted for disc golf, curling and bowling.

The inaugural event in 2008 was played over The Montgomerie course at Riffa Views Signature Estates. The Montgomerie was designed by Colin Montgomerie, who also competed in the event alongside Camilo Villegas, Michael Campbell, and Retief Goosen. Goosen was the overall skins and money winner after winning the final $50,000 skin in a shootout on the 18th hole. [1]

Colin Montgomerie Scottish professional golfer

Michael Campbell professional golfer

Michael Shane Campbell, CNZM is a retired New Zealand professional golfer who is best known for having won the 2005 U.S. Open and the richest prize in golf, the £1,000,000 HSBC World Match Play Championship, in the same year. He played on the European Tour and the PGA Tour of Australasia.

Riffa Fort

Riffa Fort was built as a fort during the reign of Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Al Khalifa in 1812, while another source claim that it was built during the rule of the Persian Safavid Empire over Bahrain during the 17th century, the fort was converted into a residence in the 19th century for Shaikh Salman Bin Ahmed Al Fateh Al Khalifa. Riffa Fort or it is now named Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Fort offers a splendid view across the Hunanaiya valley. With Riffa being home to the seat of government until 1869, this fort was strategically important in at the time.

The Great North Open was the final name of a European Tour golf tournament which was played at Slaley Hall, a country house golf resort in Northumberland in North East England, six years out of seven between 1996 and 2002. It was also played as the Slaley Hall Northumberland Challenge and the Compaq European Grand Prix. The winners included one major champion, Retief Goosen, and two winners of the European Tour Order of Merit, Colin Montgomerie and Lee Westwood. The prize fund peaked at €1,311,090 in 2001 before dropping to €935,760 in the tournament's last year, which was below average for a European Tour event at that time.

The Bahraini Crown Prince Cup was a Bahraini knockout tournament in men's association football that is played between the top-4 of the Bahraini Premier League in the previous year. The competition was run between 2001 until 2009 and was dominated by Muharraq Club and Bahrain Riffa Club.

21st Arabian Gulf Cup

The 21st Arabian Gulf Cup was the twenty-first edition of the biennial football competition. It took place in Bahrain in January 2013. The competition was originally scheduled to be hosted in the city of Basra, Iraq, but was moved to Bahrain in October 2011 to ensure that Iraq could suitably host the competition in the 22nd edition.

The 2011–12 Bahrain First Division League is the 55th edition of top level football in Bahrain. Al-Muharraq are the defending champions. The season started on 1 December after numerous postponements to the original fixture list and finished on 4 June with the relegation/promotion playoff match.

The 2013–14 Bahrain First Division League is the 57th edition of top level football in Bahrain. Busaiteen Club are the defending champions. The season started on 15 September.

The Bahraini King's Cup is a cup competition involving teams from the Bahraini Premier League and 2nd tier. Hidd SCC are the current holders of the King's Cup, having defeated Busaiteen in extra time in last year's final.
