A foil is one of the three weapons used in the sport of fencing. It is a flexible sword of total length 110 cm (43 in) or under, rectangular in cross section, weighing under 500 g (18 oz), with a blunt tip. As with the épée, points are only scored by making contact with the tip. The foil is the most commonly used weapon in fencing.

Nicole Ross is an American foil fencer. Fencing for the Columbia Lions fencing team, she won the 2010 NCAA individual women's foil title, and was a three time All-American. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in individual women's foil, coming in 25th, while in the team event she and her teammates came in sixth. At the 2018 World Championships, she and Team USA won the gold medal in the women's team foil event.
Shiho Nishioka is a Japanese female foil fencer.
Sarra Besbes is a Tunisian épée fencer, seven-time gold medallist at the African Fencing Championships. She represented Tunisia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, placing eighth, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, placing fifth.
Larisa Viktorovna Korobeynikova is a Russian right-handed foil fencer, 2021 team Olympic champion, 2021 individual Olympic bronze medalist, three-time team world champion and two-time team European champion. She received the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" I class in 2012.

Mohamed Hamza is an Egyptian foil fencer who graduated from Princeton University. He competed for Egypt in both the men's team foil event at the 2016 Summer Olympics and men's foil individual and team events at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Sera Azuma is a Japanese fencer. She competed in the women's individual foil event at the 2018 Asian Games, winning the bronze medal. She won one of the bronze medals in the women's foil event at the 2019 Asian Fencing Championships held in Chiba, Japan. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, she earned the bronze medal in the women's team foil event, which was Japan's first-ever Olympic medal in the event.

Sumire Tsuji is a Japanese fencer. She represented Japan in the women's team foil event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The fencing competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were run from 27 July to 4 August at the Grand Palais strip. A total of 212 fencers, with an equal distribution between men and women, competed across twelve medal events at the Games. For the second straight time, Paris 2024 witnessed both men and women fence against each other in the individual and team events held in all three weapons.
