RiseUp Summit is an annual entrepreneurship and innovation event that takes place in Cairo, Egypt. [1] It has been described as "one of the largest gatherings of entrepreneurs in the region". It started in 2013 to bring the MENA region's entrepreneurship ecosystem together. [2] The summit is a three-day, entrepreneurship marathon. The first RiseUp Summit occurred in 2013. [2] [3]
After attending Austin's SXSW for the first time, founding partner Muhammad M. Mansour was inspired to co-create RiseUp Summit, with the support of other ecosystem players.
RiseUp is a platform that connects startups to the most relevant resources, worldwide.
Previous participating firms include Uber, IBM, Facebook, The World Bank and Pepsi. Speakers have included Dave McClure from 500Startups, Mike Butcher from TechCrunch, Jared Friedman from Y Combinator and H.E John Casson.
A startup or start-up is a company or project undertaken by an entrepreneur to seek, develop, and validate a scalable business model. While entrepreneurship includes all new businesses, including self-employment and businesses that do not intend to go public, startups are new businesses that intend to grow large beyond the solo founder. At the beginning, startups face high uncertainty and have high rates of failure, but a minority of them do go on to be successful and influential.

The Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Bombay, also known as E-Cell, IIT Bombay, is the primary entrepreneurship promoting body of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, managed and run completely by the students of the institute. The Global Innovation through Science and Technology initiative (GIST) is a U.S. government program on innovation and entrepreneurship. The program assists businesspeople in establishing startups. GIST participants in 135 emerging economies can develop skills, build networks, find mentors, and access financing through a combination of in-country training, a pitch competition, interactive online programming, and direct connections to U.S. experts. GIST helps create conditions for successful local entrepreneurship ecosystems and enables global youth to develop local solutions to local problems. GIST is also one of the key programs under President Obama's SPARK Initiative, an initiative under which programs are selected to represent the best work being done by the U.S. Government to advance entrepreneurship around the world.

The Global Entrepreneurship Summit is an annual event organized by the federal government of the United States, in partnership with foreign government hosts. The summit originated from an event organized by the Obama Administration called the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship, which was held in April 2010 in Washington, D.C. It brought together entrepreneurs from the United States, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia to discuss the importance of social and economic entrepreneurship, establish entrepreneurship as an important area of policy focus, and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships between entrepreneurs.
