Surabaya is the capital city of the Indonesian province of East Java and the second-largest city in Indonesia, after Jakarta. According to the National Development Planning Agency, Surabaya is one of the four main central cities of Indonesia, alongside Jakarta, Medan, and Makassar. The rupiah is the official currency of Indonesia, issued and controlled by Bank Indonesia. Its name is derived from the Sanskrit word for silver, rupyakam (रूप्यकम्). Sometimes, Indonesians also informally use the word perak in referring to rupiah in coins. The rupiah is divided into 100 cents, although high inflation has rendered all coins and banknotes denominated in cents obsolete.
Rendang is a Minangkabau dish. Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Bandung, commonly referred to as Persib Bandung or simply Persib, is an Indonesian professional football club based in Bandung, West Java, which competes in Liga 1, the top tier of Indonesian football. Founded in 1919 as Bandoeng Inlandsche Voetbal Bond (BIVB), it adopted its current name in 1933. Liga 2, known as Pegadaian Liga 2 for sponsorship reasons, is the second-tier of the football competition system in Indonesia, organized by PSSI. After the 2008 reforms, the Premier Division became the second tier. Liga 2 started in 2017 as a rebranding.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. It was confirmed to have spread to Indonesia on 2 March 2020, after a dance instructor and her mother tested positive for the virus. Both were infected from a Japanese national.
Large-scale social restrictions or LSSR was a health and public movement restriction issued by the Indonesian government in response to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic from spreading. The restrictions are implemented by local government with the approval of the Ministry of Health. It includes measures such as closing public places, schools, restricting public transport, and limiting travel from and to the restricted areas. On 7 January 2021, the Ministry of Home Affairs decreed the rename of the measure in Java and Bali into the Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement or CARE.
