The Kentucky House of Representatives is the lower house of the Kentucky General Assembly. It is composed of 100 Representatives elected from single-member districts throughout the Commonwealth. Not more than two counties can be joined to form a House district,except when necessary to preserve the principle of equal representation. Representatives are elected to two-year terms with no term limits. The Kentucky House of Representatives convenes at the State Capitol in Frankfort.

On May 17,2011,Williams secured the Republican nomination over Tea Party movement-backed Phil Moffet. However,he lost the general election by twenty points to incumbent Democratic governor Steve Beshear. In November 2012,Williams resigned his Senate seat to accept a circuit court judgeship.
Robert S. Olson is a Republican member of the Kansas Senate,representing the 23rd district. He was previously a Representative in the Kansas House of Representatives,representing the 26th district from 2005 to 2010,having served as the Majority Whip. Olson was appointed to the Kansas Senate following Karin Brownlee's nomination to serve as Kansas Secretary of Labor. Following the 2022 election,Republicans and Democrats held 80 and 20 seats,respectively. The deadline for candidates to file was January 5,2024. Republicans maintained their majority in the chamber without gaining or losing any seats.
