The University of Basel is a public research university in Basel, Switzerland. Founded on 4 April 1460, it is Switzerland's oldest university and among the world's oldest surviving universities. The university is traditionally counted among the leading institutions of higher learning in the country.
Carl Dean Wilson was an American musician who co-founded the Beach Boys. He was their lead guitarist, the youngest sibling of bandmates Brian and Dennis, and the group's de facto leader in the early to mid-1970s. He was also the band's musical director on stage from 1965 until his death.

Michael Breen is an American play-by-play sports commentator. He has been the lead announcer for NBA games on ABC and ESPN since 2006, including the NBA Finals. He is also the lead announcer for New York Knicks games on the MSG Network. Breen previously called NFL regular season games for both NFL on Fox and NFL on NBC, as well as New York Giants preseason games.
Michael Carl Bryan is an American former doubles world No. 1 tennis player. With his twin brother Bob, he was the world's top doubles player for more than nine years, first achieving the top ranking in September 2003. They became the second men's doubles team to complete the career Golden Slam by winning the 2012 London Olympics. Bryan holds the records for the most major men's doubles titles at 18, the most ATP Tour men's doubles titles (123), and the most weeks (506) ranked as the doubles world No. 1. He won all but five of his doubles titles with his brother. Partnering with Jack Sock, he won two majors and the year-end championship in 2018, as well as the 2018 ATP World Tour Fans' Favorite Doubles Team.
Cornelia "Kea" Tiedemann-Bouman was a female tennis player from the Netherlands. She won the singles title at the 1927 French Championships, beating Irene Bowder Peacock of South Africa in the final. Bouman was the first and, to this date, the only Dutch woman who has won a Grand Slam singles title.
Michael Todd Tirico is an American sportscaster. He is currently the NFL play-by-play announcer on NBC's Sunday Night Football, having replaced Al Michaels in 2022, and is set to become the lead play-by-play announcer for the network's return of NBA coverage in 2025. From 2006 to 2015, Tirico served as a play-by-play announcer on ESPN's Monday Night Football. Tirico has called a multitude of sports in his career, including the NBA, NHL, college football and basketball, golf, tennis, and World Cup soccer.
Larisa Savchenko-Neiland is a tennis coach and former professional player who represented the Soviet Union and Latvia. A former world No. 1 doubles player, Neiland won six Grand Slam titles: two in women's doubles and four in mixed doubles. She also won two singles titles and 63 doubles titles on the WTA Tour. She is listed in fourth place for the most doubles match wins (766) in WTA history, after Lisa Raymond, Rennae Stubbs and Liezel Huber. Neiland has been the coach of Ukrainian tennis player Daria Snigur since 2017.
Johannes Augustinus Petrus "Jan" Tops is an equestrian from the Netherlands, who won the gold medal in the team jumping event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain riding Top Gun. He did so alongside Piet Raijmakers, Jos Lansink and Bert Romp. He competed in four consecutive Summer Olympics for his native country, starting in 1988.
Mike Willem Frank van de Goor is a retired volleyball player from the Netherlands who represented his native country at three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996. As a reserve player, he won the gold medal at his Olympic debut, alongside his older brother and two-time Olympian Bas.

Jaap Havekotte was a Dutch speed skater. He skated in several Dutch championships during the 1940s, but is best known as the founder of Viking Schaatsenfabriek, a Dutch producer of ice skates. The Viking ice skate proved to be very popular, and by 1972 every speed skating world record was skated on Viking ice skates. Viking was the first company to produce the clap skate on a large scale. Due to his significant influence on speed skating in the Netherlands, speed skaters from later generations spoke fondly of Havekotte and used to call him 'Oom Jaap'. Havekotte died on 23 April 2014 at the age of 102.
Selena Piek is a Dutch badminton player who specializes in doubles. She won the gold medals at the European Games in 2019 in the women's doubles, and in 2023 in the mixed doubles. She was part of the Badminton Europe Athletes' Commission from 2016 to 2020.
Alex Christiaan Vlaar is a Dutch-Bulgarian badminton player. He was born in Lelystad, the Netherlands. His father Chris Vlaar is a Dutch rally car driver and badminton coach, his mother is former badminton player Emilia Dimitrova who is also a coach. She played for Bulgaria at the 1992 Olympics women's doubles.
Mike Havekotte is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Eerste Divisie club TOP Oss.
