Robert L. McCullum (born June 20, 1954) [1] is an American men's college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball coach at Florida A&M. He previously served as the head coach of the Western Michigan Broncos men's basketball team and the University of South Florida (USF) Bulls men's basketball team. [2] He is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. [3]
McCullum got his start in coaching in the high school ranks before taking his first college coaching job at South Alabama in 1983. After a one-year stint with the Jaguars, McCullum moved on to Samford for the 1984 season before returning to South Alabama, where he stayed as an assistant until 1987. He then joined the staff at Southern Illinois from 1988 to 1989 before becoming an assistant coach under Lon Kruger at Kansas State in 1990. McCullum followed Kruger to Florida where he was an assistant from 1991 to 1996, and once more worked under Kruger at Illinois from 1996 to 2000.
In 2000, McCullum was named the head coach at Western Michigan where he compiled a 44–45 record in three seasons, including a berth in the 2003 NIT.
McCullum was hired as the head men's basketball coach at South Florida on April 18, 2003, by athletic director Lee Roy Selmon. [4] In four seasons, McCullum was 40–76, and was fired after the 2006–07 season on March 9, 2007. [5]
After South Florida, McCullum coached the Nigerian men's national basketball team where he led the team to a 4–1 record at the All-Africa Games. [6] Following his coaching with Nigeria, McCullum joined the staff at San Francisco for one season before moving on to be an assistant coach at UCF under Kirk Speraw. [7] [8] [9] [10]
In 2010, McCullum became an assistant coach for the Georgia Tech men's basketball team under head coach Paul Hewitt. [11] After Hewitt was fired, McCullum was not retained and became an assistant for the Guangzhou Long-Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association before joining Dana Altman's staff at Oregon as an assistant coach. [12]
McCullum was named head coach at Florida A&M on May 16, 2017. [13]

James Pierce Leavitt is an American football coach and former player. He served as the head coach at the University of South Florida from the football program's inception in 1997 until 2009, compiling a record of 95–57.
Stanley Heath III is an American basketball coach currently serving as the head coach for Eastern Michigan. Heath formerly served as head coach at the University of South Florida, the University of Arkansas and Kent State University, the latter of whom he led to the Elite Eight of the 2002 NCAA basketball tournament. He led all three programs to at least one NCAA tournament.
The South Florida Bulls football team represents the University of South Florida (USF). The Bulls began playing in 1997 and compete in the American Athletic Conference of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The team plays its home games at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Starting in 2027, the Bulls will host home games at a new $340 million on-campus stadium.
Kirk Crittendon Speraw is an American former basketball coach who was most recently an assistant basketball coach at the University of Iowa. Speraw previously served as the head coach for the men's basketball team at University of Central Florida (UCF) from 1993 to 2010, during which UCF made four appearances in the NCAA tournament.
The South Florida Bulls are the athletic teams that represent the University of South Florida. USF competes in NCAA Division I and is a member of the American Athletic Conference for all sports besides sailing, a non-NCAA sanctioned varsity sport which competes in the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association within the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association. Additionally, the school will become an affiliate member of Conference USA in the sport of beach volleyball beginning in 2025 because the American Athletic Conference does not sponsor the sport. The current athletic director is Michael Kelly, who has held the job since 2018. The school colors are green and gold and the mascot is Rocky D. Bull.
Stephen Greg Hawkins is an American college basketball coach. He is currently an assistant men's basketball coach for Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a position he has held since 2024. He had previously served as the head coach at Western Michigan University and Quincy University.
Brian Francis Gregory is an American vice president of player programming for the Phoenix Suns and former college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball coach at South Florida. He was previously serving as a consultant to Tom Izzo at Michigan State after being let go as head coach with Georgia Tech. Prior to coaching at Georgia Tech, he was the head coach at Dayton and an assistant coach under Izzo at Michigan State.
The UCF Knights are the athletic teams that represent the University of Central Florida in unincorporated Orange County, Florida near Orlando. The Knights participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I as a member of the Big 12 Conference. Since men's soccer is not sponsored by the Big 12, they play in the Sun Belt Conference.
The War on I-4 is a college rivalry between the University of Central Florida Knights and University of South Florida Bulls. The rivalry is best known for its college football matchup which originated in a series of football games played from 2005 to 2008 and now takes place on Thanksgiving weekend, the de facto "rivalry weekend" for FBS football. From 2013 to 2023, when both schools were part of the American Athletic Conference, the schools began competing annually in all sports both schools sponsored. In 2016, the schools officially adopted the "War on I-4" as an official competition series. Each year, the team with the most wins across all sports receives a gold trophy styled after an Interstate 4 (I-4) road sign with the logos of each school. The winner of the annual football game also receives a similar trophy.
Willie Author Taggart is an American football coach who is the running backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He has held the head coach position at five NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision programs: Western Kentucky ; South Florida ; Oregon (2017); Florida State ; and Florida Atlantic. At all five schools, he was the first African-American to be hired as the head coach.
The South Florida Bulls men's basketball team represents the University of South Florida in NCAA Division I basketball competition, where they are currently a member of the American Athletic Conference. Ben Fletcher is the interim head coach after Amir Abdur-Rahim died unexpectedly. The Bulls play their home games at the 10,500 seat Yuengling Center on USF's campus in Tampa, Florida. USF has won two conference championships and has reached the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament 3 times in their history, with their best finish coming in 2012 when they made the round of 32.

The South Florida Bulls baseball team is the intercollegiate men's baseball program representing the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. The team competes in the American Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I. Founded in 1966, the baseball team is one of the oldest teams at the university. The Bulls have captured eleven conference titles and 14 NCAA tournament appearances. The team plays their home games on campus at USF Baseball Stadium at Red McEwen Field and are coached by Mitch Hannahs.
The 2016–17 South Florida Bulls men's basketball team represented the University of South Florida during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The season marked the 46th basketball season for USF and the fourth as a member of the American Athletic Conference. They were led by interim head coach Murry Bartow. The Bulls played their home games at the USF Sun Dome on the university's Tampa, Florida campus. The Bulls finished the season 7–23, 1–17 in AAC play to finish in last place. As the No. 11 seed in the AAC tournament, they lost in the first round to UConn.
Amir Abdur-Rahim was an American basketball coach and player who was the head coach of the South Florida Bulls men's basketball team. Prior to coaching at USF, he was the head coach at Kennesaw State from 2019 to 2023, leading the Owls to the 2023 conference regular season and tournament titles and their first-ever berth in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.

The 2022–23 South Florida Bulls men's basketball team represented the University of South Florida during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The season marked the 51st basketball season for USF, the tenth as a member of the American Athletic Conference, and the sixth season under head coach Brian Gregory. The Bulls played their home games at Yuengling Center on the university's Tampa, Florida campus. They finished the season 14–18, 7–11 in AAC play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the first round of the AAC tournament to East Carolina.
